Beginning today, inspectors on German public transport will demand proof of vaccination, recent COVID-19 recovery, or a negative test before passengers are allowed to board, according to The New York Times.
Documents will be checked randomly and federal police will be called in if passengers who can’t show proof refuse to get off at the next stop.
“Unless passengers have been vaccinated or have recovered from a coronavirus infection, they must carry proof of a negative rapid test when using a mode of transportation,” the transport association stated. “The test must have been taken less than 24 hours ago at the start of the journey,” reported Berlin.de.
The “get tough” measures were approved as Germany grapples with a significant surge in COVID-19 cases. On Tuesday, the European nation recorded a record 66,884 cases. The average daily case rate is now above 53,000, noted The Washington Times.
The Associated Press reported that vaccine hesitancy is persistent among a “sizeable minority” of the country.

They apparently believe the un-vaccinated to pose a bigger risk than the vaccinated. So their plan is, if they find an un-vaccinated, un-tested person they are going to force them off at the next stop or arrest them?
Great. So the allegedly higher risk people will be dropped in a community midway on their journey? They are almost certainly going to find some way to continue to their destination. So all this has done is expose people at the "next stop" to these allegedly more dangerous un-vaccinated types.
Or they will arrest them, and bring the allegedly more dangerous people into confinement with another group of people.
It seems to me if someone were trying to limit exposure of allegedly more risky individuals, this is probably just about exactly the wrong way to go about it. Now, if you're just trying to force compliance on a population...

That’s the alleged premise behind the various vax mandates worldwide, yet there’s zero evidence that it’s true.
I think they are trying to discourage people from riding public transport. It looks like a good time to start a private carriage service in Germany.
I suppose next they will criminalize bicycles
