Biden celebrates start of Hanukkah

As someone noted upthread - this holiday celebrates overcoming forces seeking to destroy Jews and Judaism. Broadly applies to what is going on right now in the USA. It’s not a “Jewish” thing - it’s a freedom thing.

A New Moon was spotted on November 5, making November 6, the 1st day of the 9th month.
Today would be the 23rd day.
Tomorrow would be the 24th.

It seems the start of Hanukkah is earlier than the 25th?

Or do they use the scientific new moon as opposed to the sighted moon to begin the month?

It’s like they are more than a day off.

But who’s counting..
