When naming the latest coronavirus variant, the World Health Organization (WHO) skipped the fourteenth letter of the Greek alphabet that just-so-happens to have the same spelling of a certain tyrannical world leader’s name.
On Friday, news broke that scientists and world leaders have grown increasingly concerned about the “Omicron” variant, prompting New York to call a state of emergency and the U.K. to restrict travel from several African countries. Given that the variant names jumped from “Mu” all the way to “Omicron,” skipping “Nu” and “Xi” respectively, people on Twitter speculated that the WHO tinkered with the order so as not to offend Chinese communist dictator Xi Jinping.

OK, so they skipped Xi so as to not offend Xi. But why skip Nu?
I’m guessing Omicron sounds more ominous.
Perhaps Nu is a Chinese acronym for “Communism Sucks”? ;)
Nu sounds too much like “new” and of course as there isz a new variant, it avoids confusion and provides cover for skipping Xi as well since we can’t point anything back towards China WRT covid.

Trump was correct in cutting the funding to WHO
They did not want to have it the Nu (new) variant and make it different from the others. Xi was not used as they don’t use names of people to name diseases any more (Lou Gehrig’s disease). It may have be fitting to use Xi though.
China is a frightening terror state, make no mistake about that. It influences everything you read that has gone through the ‘media’. It pays off reporters. It kills dissidents. It has infected every niche of life in the U.S. We are actually in a cold-war state with China, and they have dominated the psychological warfare department. It’s useful idiots serve as Mayors and Governors of entire states. We are toast if this basic fact is not addressed. We may be where the ‘system’ simply can’t be fixed through the ‘normal channels’ and all the apocalyptic theories of the western religions will conspire to snuff out western civilization. Maybe eight centuries of living under the won-ton nazis will teach mankind the lesson we didn’t get from world war two.
