Like T.R. Clancy on these pages two days ago, I railed at the moronic, breathless claim the main-stream-media spewed that Kyle Rittenhouse crossed state lines.
As Mr. Clancy explained, the United States Interstate Commerce Law mandates the ability to wander among the states freely. One doesn’t have to actually be involved in commerce to travel. Here, in the United States, one has the luxury to visit family, job-hunt, shop and/or sightsee, or move about the country without purpose or permission.
So why did the media make a false meme regarding Kyle Rittenhouse’s purported felonious crossing of state lines? With what nefarious activities did they want the public to mentally link Rittenhouse’s crossing a state line? Sadly, at least half of an ill-informed populace, already polarized, brain-washed and frustrated by Covid restraints were thirsting for Rittenhouse’s head on a pike. At least in part because he had the nerve to cross state lines.
The whole “crossing state lines” thing emanates from the Federal White Slave Traffic Act, commonly known as the Mann Act, enacted in 1910. The Mann Act was created to criminalize the transport of women and girls across state lines or internationally for prostitution, immorality or trafficking.
It can also be illegal to take a firearm across state lines, unless the gun is legally owned in the states involved.
Rittenhouse did not take a woman of any age across state lines. Moreover, the firearm he used to defend himself was legally stored at a friend’s house in Wisconsin.
When should we trust the main stream media? Obviously, never.

Kenosha was just 20 miles from where Kyle lived in Illinois.
His father lives in Kenosha, he had lots of friends in Kenosha, he had a job in Kenosha, in other words, Kenosha is his second home.
He wasn’t a vigilante looking for trouble. That’s all you need to know.
Compare that with one of the rioters who travelled hundreds of miles to go to Kenosha....
A key issue the media never talked about in this case, is that Kyle Rittenhouse lives in Antioch , Illinois , which is very close to the border with Wisconsin.
Kenosha, Wisconsin is very close to the state line with Illinois. People travel back and forth over that state line in that region all the time. Kyle has family and friends in Kenosha, and traveled back and forth a lot.
The whole crossing state lines meme is intended to create an impression that he traveled a long distance to get to another state. When in fact he traveled about 20 miles to a neighboring town he visited all the time.
RE: Kyle has family and friends in Kenosha, and traveled back and forth a lot.
Yes, and he also had a job in Kenosha. In other words, he has ties to that town and is not a stranger to it.
Obviously, Mr. Rittenhouse’s papers were not in order.
Grosskreutz rioted all over the country for 75 days
Bet he was armed the whole time
At least until Kyle “disarmed “ him
Marxist Left
“He crossed state lines! Accuse! Accuse!!!”
“Our national borders are just lines on a map. They aren’t real.”
Well said. People in that region cross the state line all the time. The media never said Kyle had family and friends in Kenosha. They intentionally created a false impression that he traveled a long distance to a place he had never been before, to go shoot people.
all that aside...
Does anyone else find it ironic that the same people who have defended open borders and claimed that borders don’t mean anything are now losing their minds because Kyle from 20 miles from one state to another?
It has to do with federal laws against crossing state lines with firearms (which Kyle did not do).
Those are unconstitutional infringements anyway.
How many of the people fighting the British crossed state lines with guns?
RE: It has to do with federal laws against crossing state lines with firearms (which Kyle did not do).
That’s another lie there. The AR-15 was IN KENOSHA. Kyle never brought any weapon from Illinois and it was a LICENSED FIREARM. That charge was quickly dropped by the Judge.
Those laws should not exist.
I should be able to travel and defend myself anywhere in the USA.
The implication is, ***federal*** criminal jurisdiction triggered, ***Federal*** Bureau of Investigation involvement thus warranted, exoneration at the state level ***not*** necessarily the last stop on the Get-Kyle train...
If CNN, MSNBC, the New York Times could have gotten away with it, they would have doctored the photographs of the prosecutor’s “heros” with blackface. They certainly tried to convince everyone these scum were black.
I believe the feds are cooking up some sort of interstate charge against Kyle. The media is simply prepping the field for them.
The MSM doesn’t report news they make up stories they have no credibility with a cast of thousands.
Hypocrisy and the Left go hand in hand.
Child-Rapist Rosenbaum was from Waco.
