Vladimir Putin's state owned TV issued a chilling threat that Russia may deploy the system to destroy some 32 Western satellites to render Nato missiles useless.

It comes after Putin used the weapon to destroy a redundant Soviet-era Tselina-D military reconnaissance satellite - blasting it into an orbital debris storm.

Intelligence sources in the West and Russia believe the hunk of space junk was annihilated by the new satellite killer missile system.

The weapon has been dubbed the "Star Warrior" by state Russian media and is the next step in an orbital arms race.

Putin tested the missiles nine times between 2014 and 2020 before it was deployed ...

I am conflicted about this.

on one hand I have designs and patents on this stuff.

but I have seen everything that was supposed to be good somehow misused.

there is a small voice that whispers “perhaps we deserve to isolate ourselves from the universe”

Putin gets offended when Russia is treated as an afterthought in international affairs, but then his way to get attention is to act like North Korea. Umm….I think I’ve identified the problem here.

Yep. Russia’s economy is now smaller than Australia’s. They are a minor player in the world, but work very hard to make up for it by making loud noises every once and awhile.

Can’t be as efficient as the touted “ball bearing cloud” device the ChiComs developed 2+ decades back.

It was described to me tears ago by a Readiness Planner that “Russia is a third world country with a first-class military.”

It all made complete sense to me from that point forward.

This is precisely why Trump created Space Force. I believe Biden is defunding it.

Good thing that Biden’s administration trusts Russia and China not to militarize space. After all we have treaties.

Thsse countries might get a strongly worded letter from the State Dept if they keep testing.

Despite what the Russophiles say, Russia has never been, or wanted to be, joined with Western Civilization. It is an oriental despotism: Has been, is now, and seemingly always will be.

Oh well, that’s what we get for sitting on our assess for 30 years thinking we were king of the hill and doing NOTHING while our enemies armed-up.

Now it’s just a matter of time until we’re put in our place, be it over Taiwan or Ukraine.

Peter the Great might disagree, but historically you’re probably right.

This is precisely why Trump created Space Force. I believe Biden is defunding it.

And what he can’t immediately defund, he is using VAX mandates to pressure good people out. More than a few are taking early retirements.

How many other satellites will be destroyed by the remains of the Soviet-era Tselina-D military reconnaissance satellite blasted to pieces.

Something the USAF did *years ago* “ZapSat”.
