I'm not sure, to be honest -- I haven't been following it that closely, either. I watched Kyle's trial every day, and after that I had to take a break. I only remember the original video of the shooting, and my first thought was "what were those guys thinking?!"
Andrew Branca has said there's a chance they could be found innocent, but the Rekieta Law panel said that the prosecutor is VERY good, so who knows.
Today they ARE them.
I think had he shot the guy one time, a decent chance of acquittal. Shooting him multiple times did not play well. My guess, guilty for the shooter for murder. One accomplice will get a lesser sentence. The video guy may go free. Just my take.
Then comes the federal hate crime case.
For the past few weeks I stopped watching the local news here. One would think it was the Kennedy assassination investigation with the local coverage. In the past few weeks in Jacksonville alone there have been at least 5 black on black killings...virtually no mention.
What does Capt. Coon think about all of the black on black crime?

I doubt they get too itchy in my neck of the woods, but you never know so we're always prepared. I wouldn't be upset if I had to take out a few pedophiles and career criminals.
Didn't know that. In most casual recountings the blame is placed on jealousy that there was a prosperous black section in town.
I haven’t followed this case very closely; does the defense have much of any case? I haven’t seen anything I would call remotely convincing that they had any business shooting this guy at all; call the cops and report a trespass, but not follow him and shoot him down. Am I missing information?
Stupid people say stupid things. And the DOJ looks stupid by not responding by this very overt threat.
n.b. - I do believe the prosecution has made their case and based on what I have read and heard would vote for conviction. It’s going to be a tense time in that area.
Guilty = riots, looting, burning.
