Someday they will be able to target a specific individual or family, I think that that is more likely than an ethnic bioweapon.
Our government may use our genetic info to trace or target a particular person or family (i.e., surveillance) but the Chinese will use it militarily to target entire races or ethnicities. The Israelis are also rumored to be developing ethnic weapons but, as with their nuclear capabilities, it’s officially denied.

If you knew anything about the people you just smeared, you would not say that.
The time that they were “sang the praises of China” was in the years prior to Xi. In those years China was a relatively ‘nice’ place to live and thousands of westerners moved and worked there. They married, had kids, started business - just like in the west. It was a country in the ‘grey’ zone - neither wholly Asian nor western. Plus it is a beautiful country.
They did criticize China during those years, if you actually followed them. They had a lot of fun. Until Xi. Then the repressions began. They were targeted by the PAP for questioning - which usually led to beatings and imprisonment. So they fled with their families for their lives.
Now they are exposing what it is like to live under Xi’s CCP rule. They make enough money on their paid side to support the free side of their ventures. That is a bad or greedy thing to you? So you’d rather listen to the CCP paid shills sing the praises of the CCP and the wonderful lives of Uyghurs? Or are you one yourself?
