Army officials are telling soldiers who refuse to get vaccinated against COVID-19 that they aren't getting booted immediately, but they can't stay in the service for a career.
In a memo to the force last week, Army Secretary Christine Wormuth said active-duty soldiers, reservists and Guardsmen who refuse the vaccine will be "flagged," meaning they will be barred from reenlistment, promotions and potentially most schools.
But soldiers won't be outright removed automatically. Hypothetically, a soldier with years left on their contract can still serve, but will see no progress in their career and will not be allowed to serve beyond that contract. They could leave with an honorable discharge.

How about they leave tomorrow and get severance pay equal to the amount they would have gotten until the end of the hitch they’re currently signed up for?

Those that are close to retirement can ride it out, those that are not can leave if they want BUT their careers are NOT OVER!! The carriers that WILL BE OVER are the complete IDIOTS at the top!!
That’s my thought as well. Once they remove the ones resisting the vax, they expect to have a fully compliant military that will be more than willing to shoot anybody. This is the final step for them.

In two years (or less) our military will require a draft because recruiting alone won’t cut it.

They used to do this for guys caught on a drug test. They’d get told to stay on for the rest of their tour and the article 15 wouldn’t get processed. In reality, the commanders got somebody they could stick with every crappy task and didn’t lose a body from their unit.

We have an EXTREME shortage of people willing to work at the current time. Many businesses around here have had to close due to no ability to hire or retain workers. The military needs these already trained personnel worse than the personnel need the military. This is just more media fake news.

No, this is the Army only. I read that it’s up to each branch of service on how they want to handle it. The Army seems a little less crazy. I heard that they are also the only branch that have approved religious exemptions. I don’t know if that’s true or not, because I haven’t been able to verify it.
Those malcontents that were just hoping for a free way out of the Army are going to be mad. Those who sincerely had concerns about the vaccine are going to watch their vaccinated peers advance ahead of them.
Yes, you are a health danger to all the vaxxed enlisted but you can stay on until your enlistment runs out...
Just more proof this has nothing to do with health but is about punishing those who don’t blindly follow the herd.
They should be flagged and the lot of present woke generals and admirals should be deflagged, reduced to the ranks, retired without pay. We need senior leadership in the military with spine and a sense of what is just and unjust.
