Kyle Rittenhouse says his case was not about the contentious issue of race — and that, in fact, he supports Black Lives Matter.
“This case … had nothing to do with race, had to do with the right to self-defense,” Rittenhouse, 18, told Fox News host Tucker Carlson in an interview set to air Monday.
“I’m not a racist person. I support the BLM movement and peacefully demonstrating.”
A jury cleared Rittenhouse of charges of homicide, attempted homicide and reckless endangerment on Friday in the deaths of Joseph Rosenbaum, 36, and Anthony Huber, 26, and the wounding of Gaige Grosskreutz, 27, on Aug. 25, 2020.
He was 17 when he brought a semi-automatic rifle and a medical kit to Kenosha in what he said was an effort to protect businesses as riots broke out over the police shooting of Jacob Blake, a black man who was left paralyzed from the waist down, on Aug. 23.

STFU Kyle
How do you know he isn’t thinking about “Blue Lives Matter?”
So ... he thought those ppl were on his side (at one point?) ...
That is disappointing.
That is disappointing.
Lay the groundwork for the defamation lawsuits probably.
Just further proof that what we are dealing with here is a clueless kid.
Poor CNN, with Kyle on Tucker and Trump on Hannity tonight they’ll go from 2 viewers to 1.
The reality is that they are a terrorist group playing the role of velvet glove with the iron fist of Antifa.
I suspect he may be saying this to protect his friends and family in Kenosha.
For one, he's suffering from PTSD.
Second, he's 18 years old. Barely a kid.
Third, he's been called a white supremacist from everyone from the President of the United States on down. This can't be good for his self-image.
At the end of the day, he's a young kid who had his life turned upside down and probably wants nothing more than to regain some semblance of normality, even with half the country thinking he's a monster. Does he really have well-formed political views? Should he at this point in his life?
So, yeah, he'll pay lip-service to BLM because that's what young people his age have been trained to do.
BLM, hates him, almost takes his life, almost sends him to prison for life, spent a year defaming him. Yet, he supports them. What an idiot.
Exactly, and he probably believes the climate change BS as well.
I think we should give Kyle a break here-he is young, I have no doubt he will learn that BLM isn’t about peacefully protesting if he hasn’t made that connection yet.
I think he will, in time. He is just 18, and has had other things on his mind.
I feel that we should be grateful to him, because he forced this issue of self-defense onto a national stage...even though it should never have been there in the first place.
They are trying to outlaw the concept of self defense, and he got a big case won for us.
I think he will learn over time.
Correct answer to a trick question.
The press deliberately conflates “black lives matter” the concept vs the terror group that goes by the same name.
Like lot of people with much more education, he probably does not know that BLM is an actual organization with declared Marxist goals.
He is too young to know about marxism and the way it hides in clever slogans. I would give him a pass and ask him again when he is 50 yo. He will only understand the world he lives in then. It is a shame we don’t know anything much until we aare over half way done with our lives, but that seems the way of the world.
"The BLM movement" does not refer to the terror group.
"Peacefully demonstrating" does not refer to the terror group.
Before you jump all over you his kid, consider everything and don’t necessarily take these interviews too seriously.
