If we were standing here a year ago in Daytona, you could get a gallon of a gas — now it’s $3.34. It’s $1.31 more than it was a year ago today just right here, and that’s really true throughout the rest of the country,” he said, noting that the supply chain crisis is only exacerbating the issue.
Because of that, the next legislative session will pursue providing over a billion dollars in gas tax relief for Florida families, “and that’s going to make a big, big, difference,” he announced.
According to the Republican governor, the average family could save $200 in a 5-6 month period with this relief.
So we’re here to do something about it,” he said, adding that companies such as Buc-ee’s and Wawa are “absolutely committed to reducing the price when we end up enacting this.”

Wonder what the gas taxes are in Florida and if they could be offset by some type of small increase in sales taxes.
In Georgia we pay an extra .30 because of all the corruption in the state legislature. Guaranteed money for those Frat boys so they aren’t going to get rid of it and replace it with some sort of SPLOST w/ a sunset clause in it.
There should be no gas tax if they are not going to use it for roads and divert it to social programs and then have to pass infrastructure bills to fix roads.
I think Florida fuel tax is 28 cents...I do not know if they change it every year as a budget item..
The tax ( tariff ) should be on crude oil IMPORTS to promote the development and exploitation of US DOMESTIC oil. A no brainer.
And/or offer tax credits to encourage domestic production.
Ripping a page out of the dimmocrats’ playbook! I love it!
In a lib state they would tell citizens they are going to subsidize gas at the pump by 30 cents and all it will take is a 40 cent added sales tax and the media would tell everyone what a great deal it is and the dumb lib voters would believe it. They could also tell them they are adding electrolytes to the gas because “its what cars crave (brought to you by Carls Junior)”.
I use Ethanol Free Premium 90oct in my 2019 Jeep Grand Cherokee HEMI V8, and a week ago, it was $5.35/gal. Now it's dropped to $4.29/gal, when I stopped by the pumps today just to check prices.
BINGO! WE HAVE A WINNER......End or thread...
