Kyle Rittenhouse says said that his case was not about the contentious issue of race — and that, in fact, he supports Black Lives Matter.
“This case . . . had nothing to do with race, had to do with the right to self-defense,” Rittenhouse (inset), 18, told Fox News host Tucker Carlson in an interview set to air Monday.
“I’m not a racist person. I support the BLM movement and peacefully demonstrating.”

Personally, I don't put stock in anything the media says, I try to look at the facts. Too many "conservatives" are just inversions of the left, they believe the opposite of what the media says, instead of ignoring what the media says and trying to find out the facts.

God bless this kid. I was, and am, thrilled that he was acquitted, as it was a victory for common sense and the right to self-defense.
BUT...let’s face it... Kyle is 17-year-old kid. Period. He is likely not anyone’s idea of a particularly sophisticated or intellectually advanced 17-year-old. And he ain’t exactly an intellectual heavyweight of American conservatism. It’s sad but unsurprising that he apparently thinks that the so-called BLM movement is worthy of support.
He shouldn’t say anything. That’s what a smart person would do. Look, he’s an 18 year old, what do you expect? But I also don’t believe the people who make him out to be an infallible hero.
The kid knows BLM will be gunning for him, literally. He’s trying to mitigate this possibility by saying he’s not racist and supports peaceful protest of BLM so that they might not want to kill him as much. He’s young, he’s wrong.
They will come after him no matter what he says. He’ll learn. He’ll learn, fast. His first interview is with Tucker Carlson; that’s a good sign. He’ll wise up, although I think he’s just trying to protect himself from pursuit by BLM. Won’t work though.

Agreed. Everyone projected an image onto this kid: The left saw a white supremacist, and the right saw a patriot.
In reality, he was a kid who didn’t like that businesses were being destroyed, decided to help protect businesses, and ended up being forced to defend himself.
In the first videos, the group he was with were referring to themselves as “libertarians” and telling the “protesters” they agreed with them but to leave the businesses alone.

Most young people his age buy into the BLM peaceful protest meme….Kyle shot three people who were not BLM, They were there to burn things down…antifa….they are the armed side using BLM as cover..young people like Kyle do not realise this. BLM is perfectly fine with antifa and looters….
