The U.S. Senate advanced a bill requiring young American women to sign up for the military draft that is expected to pass despite opposition from Senate conservatives.
The National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) for the 2022 fiscal year advanced in the Senate on Wednesday by an 84-15 vote.
Considered a must-pass, the annual defense policy bill this year contains a provision that would require “all Americans” between the ages of 18 and 26, including young women, to register with the Selective Service System.
Registrants could be called up for military service in the event of a wartime draft.
Among those who voted against bringing the bill to the floor for debate were Republican Sens. Rand Paul of Kentucky, Ted Cruz of Texas, and Josh Hawley of Missouri.
Hawley has blasted the legislation for “forc[ing] our daughters, mothers, wives, and sisters to fight our wars,” and earlier this month introduced an amendment to strip out the provision forcing women to sign up for military conscription.
“Volunteering for military service is not the same as being forced into it, and no woman should be compelled to do so,” Hawley said.
To date, Hawley has been joined by 10 co-sponsors who also want to see the clause scrubbed from the final bill before it goes to the president’s desk to be signed…

Have at it. Women could serve in non-combat roles in the military. They do now. Look at the number of women in the Pentagon, hospitals, intelligence, supply, mechanics, and a whole slew of other departments where they don’t carry a weapon.

Those jobs—with very few exceptions—are needed to give men coming out of combat a place to decompress.
As much as I’m opposed to drafting women I don’t think the majority of young woman would oppose this.....especially those who want equality across the board these days.
Might be time the US needs to look at all young people serving a certain time in the military......like Israel does.

I have no problem with women being eligible for the draft as that net will catch all of the Karen’s in ‘womens studdies’ programs. The real problem is that Democrats aren’t mentally consistent and are in fact child minds trapped in adult bodies. I read an article over at DailyWire proving as much, “Protests Erupt Around U.S. In Response To Rittenhouse Verdict; Some Turn Violent”, so give that a look. Every temper tantrum and poor decision is clearly explained when you view the left as such. And as long as the 50 Dims and the tie-breaker DIM VP march in lockstep there isn’t anything that can (legally) be done to stop them anyway. Women will learn the hard way, just as they are with men playing ladies in sports...you have to be careful what you wish for because you just might get it.
