Rittenhouse verdict puts Biden in difficult political spot

WILMINGTON, Del. (AP) — A difficult political atmosphere for President Joe Biden may have become even more treacherous with the acquittal of Kyle Rittenhouse.

Biden was already facing sliding poll numbers with an electorate worn down by the coronavirus pandemic and increasing inflation. Now, the president finds himself caught between outraged Democrats — some of whom were already stewing over Biden’s inability to land police reform and voting rights legislation — and Republicans looking to use the Rittenhouse case to exploit the national divide over matters of grievance and race.

“This is one of the last things Biden wants to be engaging in at this moment as he tries to finish up the big Build Back Better bill and get that across the finish line through the Senate,” said Christopher Borick, director of the Muhlenberg College Institute of Public Opinion. “Race and Kyle Rittenhouse is not the space where he wants or needs to be going deep right now.”

The acquittal of Rittenhouse has touched off new conversations about racial justice, vigilantism and policing in America.

Even before the verdict, Biden had been facing increased pressure from some Democrats over the lack of progress on passing voting rights and police reform legislation.

At the same, civil rights leaders have expressed frustration that Biden has not used the power of the bully pulpit more to push for a broad police reform bill named after George Floyd, the Black Minneapolis man whose killing last year by police touched off protests around the U.S.

Speaking at an event earlier this week where he signed into law a trio of bills to increase aid to police, Biden only made passing mention of the George Floyd act, asking legislators from both parties to work together to make it law.

Exactly. The left has deliberately manufactured this racial divide for the express purpose of gaining political power.

I’m not sure if hollow points are available in that caliber; please correct me if I’m wrong. It’s the high velocity of the rounds combined with their being relative long vs their width that does the damage. When one hits a person or animal the tip slows rapidly while the tail keeps moving, causing the round to summersault as it goes through the target. That phenomenon causes huge, ragged wounds, just like the monster wound suffered by Shootee No. 3.

Only God given human rights are a “difficult” position for democrats to embrace.

It is time for an FBI SWATting of Kyle at his home and confiscation of any weapons and all electronics. The three assailants he shot will be Identified as trannie Negroes and it will be a Civil Rights case.

Dear Mean Daddy

I mean no disrespect to you, but I do have a question.

You refer to Biden as “Diaper Joe” just because he had an unfortunate bout of diarrhea while traveling, like many of us have had from time to time. That marks you as a childish boorish person with no sense of decency. Since you put it in writing, its obvious youre proud to be seen as that type of person.

My question is this: When you’re trying to show off how crude you are, why do you use that silly fake name?

I figure you’re trying to keep your Missus from finding out what a lout she stuck herself with. Did I nail it?

“and Republicans looking to use the Rittenhouse case to exploit the national divide over matters of grievance and race.“

Hmmm, don’t know any of those.
I do know a whole lot of people that are glad the American jury system worked. Facts were presented, an innocent person didn’t go to prison, and mob rule didn’t overwhelm justice.

Correction, ‘worn down by the government’s grossly excessive overresponse to the coronavirus pandemic.”

Anything heavier at that distance would have made him an amputee.

Most common ammo is 5.56 55gr FMJ.

I have no clue what he actually shot.

I don’t own an AR or an AK.

I can reload 5.56

Why the race angle; one WHITE kid defended his life against 3 WHITE thugs, 2 WHITE thugs justifiably are at room temperature and the other WHITE thug is now going by the moniker of “LEFTY”.

Just don’t see any race angle there other than the term “THUG”!

He also shot at JumpKickMan, who was black. He missed. That’s a sign that God was with Kyle that day.

I owned both before my TBA. I have AK ammo in HP and ball; the AR ammo is all ball and I haven’t seen any in HP>

Most of my rifles are bolt action or lever. All are 30 caliber or larger.

I do reload for family members. Am working on two loads for my brother’s 22-250 rifle right now. One with Hornady 55 gr HP and one with Speer 70 gr Semi Spitzer SP. It took effort to find components for that. Brass and bullets were hard to find, but I was lucky and found some new Star line brass. Good stuff.

The only semiautomatic rifle I own is a 7.62X39 (30 caliber). I reload for that too. But bought some (Russian) Barnaul SP ammo for it a while back.

I reload rifle, pistol and shotshells.
