The Pill Cam....used on me to id intestinal bleeding, primarily the long small intestine inaccessible via endoscopes because too many switchbacks...Amazing device with video camera, light and transmitter .
Recorder leads hooked up like small EKG leads and away you go about your daily routine...8 hrs later back to Dr. to remove recorder. Done. Pill Cam expelled via usual route. You may or may not see it in the toilet bowl before it continues trip searching for Nemo.
Takes about 50k images...must be some image analysing software to scan and id the potential problems....boggles the mind imagining the Doc viewing 50k images of the intestine.

Depends on how much sedative, or who is doing the sedation. I’ve had colonoscopies where I can remember everything, and I’ve had some where I don’t remember anything.
Yes, sorry to say. I’ve had 13 of ‘em. I seem to be a polyp farm. So was my dad.
The prep the day/night before is an ordeal. That’s the day the cadaver brandon was yukkin it up signing our kids’/grandkids’ futures away.
I know for a fact that after anesthesia, one might feel lucid, but you are erratic and tired for hours.

Never had a problem from scope anesthesia. (Both ways and together but still same timing.) they warn you not to do anything mechanical or important but in truth after an hour or so it’s no difference to me.
Maybe your chemistry doesn’t jibe well with the drugs.
LOL you don’t really know me! Actually I’m plagued by all kinds of undiagnosed issues I swear all go together. The gastro/I and the breast cancer all seem old hat and I wish the docs would help the other chronic issues! It does get me down, while generally the colon and so forth aren’t much trouble. Let’s hope it stays that way!
I heard they removed a polyp from Biden’s colon. Unfortunately, it turned out to be his brain!

I feel for you, all my issues are diagnosed. Sarcoidosis in the main body of my liver, PSC from long standing UC wrecked my bile ducts. Had a liver transplant earlier this year, thank God for that much. My umpteenth colonoscopy next month. Yeah we gotta keep kicking, too much life left to live. Now all we have to do is get beyond all this COVID crap. The politicians and tech giants can’t think of enough ways to try to keep us down, but we won’t let them!👍
Sorry to hear about your troubles, but glad to know you’re staying on top of it. I’ve had only one colonoscopy, but my experience was different from yours. Wide awake immediately afterwards, and no grogginess at all.

Have you been as absolutely livid as I have about how medical behaves with the specter of COVID hysteria coloring everything we try to get done? I cannot imagine having to go thru transplant in the insanity now!
PSC is primary sclerosis cholangitis, narrowing and hardening of the bile ducts.
It’s a rare complication of long standing Ulcerative Colitis (I was diagnosed with UC 27yrs ago.
It has indeed been frustrating: only my wife could come in the hospital with me at all, no other family members. Had to get special permission for one of our daughters to visit. I had the surgery May 23rd, this year.
I think it was worse for the caregivers, they were really short handed. ICU wasn’t bad (except for the pain), but once I was moved to a regular room, they were really short handed, and It might take a few extra minutes to get a care giver after I called for them. I was called on a Sunday morning, early that afternoon I went into surgery. 8hrs later I was in recovery. They discharged me the following Friday. I think most of the hardships were suffered by the staff.
I went into the hospital having had 2 Moderna “vaccinations”. I had the third “booster” shot last month. Talking with the pharmacist on the phone, she suggested getting a FOURTH shot! I politely told her I wasn’t interested. I know I’m taking a lot of medications and am immunosuppressed, but if 3 shots aren’t going to do the job, I don’t think a fourth will either. I have gone through enough, without continuing to be a Guinea Pig for Fauci.
As my nurse said as I was getting prepped “ this will be the best sleep you have had for a while.”
