Report: Navy Shipbuilding Contractor Suspends Vaccine Mandate After Workers Threaten to Quit
Huntington Ingalls Industries (HII), the parent company to Newport News Shipbuilding, suspended its federally-enforced coronavirus vaccine mandate after the U.S. Navy “confirmed that our contracts do not include a requirement to implement the mandate,” and some workers threatened to quit, according to the Daily Press and WTKR.
...
Initially, the shipyard announced all 25,000 employees would be required to be fully vaccinated by December 8 as a “condition of continued employment,” according to WAVY. That deadline was extended to January 4, with the blessing of the federal government, but has now been suspended.

But some shipyard employees “feel tricked” according to WTKR, explaining to the outlet that “they only got the vaccine because of the mandate.”
Deshawn Royal, a Newport News Shipbuilding employee, told WTKR, “They made me get it and then lifted it. … I didn’t want to get it, but they said I had to get it or we were going to get fired. And then they lifted it. Y’all did us wrong.”
WTKR spoke to another employee, Rodney Apop, who was reportedly “happy to get vaccinated,” but explained that many of his colleagues felt similarly to Royal. “They went ahead and jumped, and they didn’t have the choice to do it,” Apop said, continuing, “And now when they take [the mandate] away, they wish they had known so they didn’t have to.”
WTKR also reported that employees believe the mandate was lifted after workers threatened to quit. As Royal explained, “You’re gonna lose your people. … Not everybody is gonna get it. It’s not worth a lot of people’s money to get injected with something they don’t want.”

Report: Navy Shipbuilding Contractor Suspends Vaccine Mandate After Workers Threaten to Quit
I’ll bet that the navy tries to suspend their shipbuiling contracts. Not lawful, but then again, this is a lawless administration.
In the next couple of weeks I think we’re going to find that these mandates are unenforceable.
Reduce the programs and you alienate their base.
How can they do that? All Federal contractors must be vaxxed by EO of sleepy Joe. Hell my work at home wife has to be vaxxed and she has NO physical contact with anyone in her company. Freaking hypocrites
My experience with DC-based Fed.gov bureaucrats is that they are subject to extreme arrogant, status, leftist group-think. They will indeed consider things that are extremely damaging to the country and even themselves in the spirit of their self-righteous power grab. They start by shooting themselves in the foot, and may even shoot themselves in the head. All I can say is - I hope they do.
You have no idea what they do for the Navy do you?
Then none will be built.
When in doubt, read the contract. It’s really that simple.
I see times of Jimmy Hoffa coming up.
It wasn’t just New Port News. Ingalls, in Mississippi, was set to lose 40% of its staff too.
Someone else who doesn’t know what NNS does for the Navy.
How is Ingalls not under the contractor mandate?
That’s effectively what happened with my job.
The mandate only applies to contracts signed after October 15 2021.
The largest fighter pilot training group for the us military was going to have to shit down because we were pretty universally going to walk. Or enough that we’d cease to function.
Suddenly the clause was located by lawyers and all is fine.
Ping.

Just hang on buddy. The scotus rules the mandate illegal? You all can hire a shyster lawyer and sue the living hell out of them for civil rights violations.
AND I HOPE..thats the way it goes.
Not if they want nuclear ships built. There's not a lot of competition.
“How can they do that”
The Biden mandates are on hold by order of several courts. The company chose wisely.
