We were not seeing it. Found it boring

I getcha. Personally, I kind of enjoy a little boring. Or, more specifically, a slower moving storyline that is not all non-stop fast-moving start to finish. I like getting to know characters and different subtly nuances and things that sort of draw out.

Since the modern "binge-watching" era, where you can knock out 50 one hour episodes of a show, I've found myself liking movies a lot less. Having a story told from start to finish, intro to problem to conclusion, over the course of 100-120 minutes is way too fast for me. I find the telling of the story to be too direct and lacking subtlety. I like to savor it a bit.

But, I can see how others may want the stories to just "get on with it" and move a lot quicker. To each his own!

I have found that since there is nothing of value on regular TV anymore, that between Netflix, Amazon, or Roku, you can find lots of old (decent) television shows to binge through and some hidden gems in the new content. I avoid anything that goes past a single season just because I do want a conclusion at some point and most shows just drag it out until its dropped and you never get a conclusion or by the time you do they have beaten the horse dead.

The one season thrillers from Harlan Cobin (The Stranger, Safe, The Woods, The Five), Russian Doll, American Horror Story (more than a season but each season is its own story) are all excellent. The Righteous Gemstones was gut wrenching funny and entertaining as well.

I know what you mean. I usually don’t have 2 hours to invest in a movie in one sitting so I like shows with 45 minute episodes over a few weeks of watching. I enjoy the characters much more. I just finished 5 seasons of Peaky Blinders and now I’m going through withdrawals, lol.
