Airline policy you've never heard of might foil your holiday travel plans [for illegal aliens]

… A few afternoons each month, I am also a volunteer with an organization that helps migrants released from Immigration and Customs Enforcement detention reunite with their families. As much as we try to smooth this last leg of the journey, the only part we can control, Delta Airlines’ credit card policy foiled us multiple times last month.

For some number of people, Delta flags their flight bookings and requires the credit card used for purchase to be shown at check-in. There is no way out and no way around it.

The migrants detained by ICE and flown to a detention center exit with little more than the clothes on their back and the colored ID cards ICE gives them while it keeps their passports. Their families are ready and willing to book flights, but sometimes Delta simply does not let them.

Each afternoon, the privately run ICE detention center releases migrants allowed to await their asylum hearing freely, granted asylum or released on bond.

These migrant travelers rarely speak English and often have little concept of what part of the country ICE flew them to before releasing them. (The most common question they ask is the name of the nearest airport.) Almost nobody who comes out had more than an hour or two of a heads-up that they would be released that day. What they almost all share, though, is that they have family or friends, somewhere in the U.S., credit card in hand, ready to book them a flight to Baltimore, New York, Houston or wherever they might live.

The nonprofit supplies shelter, cellphones and warm clothes and helps their families navigate booking a flight.

The America of 1963 vanished a long time ago.

More precisely they’re criminals.

They’ve broken the law.

Yes it did and in many, many ways we are not better off for its disappearance.

My mother in law came legally as a teen. Worked in sweatshops to earn money to bring her family over. Knew no English. Did everything legally & has a wonderful life.

These people are lazy leeches.

One of my in-law’s Filipina aunt was an illegal back in the 90’s. She ALWAYS filed her taxes via ITIN, and stayed out of trouble. This was way before DACA, and how she became a US citizen required a lot of patience. She NEVER got on any welfare roll and never bitched about the USA. Also hated the mexicans when they would insult her and sh shoots back “at least we Filipinos dont jump over the border to get here!”
