I think that in 2020 the Democrats had a dilemma. There are younger rocks than the top Democrats. By and large, the Democrats haven’t invested in younger talent and have, instead, clung to the reigns of power well past their best-by dates. On top of that, the group of potential candidates who applied for the top office billing were spectacularly unqualified, unlikable and unelectable. At which point the top party officials should have held a meeting and decided on a few things. What is the party’s goals, aside from holding power and feathering their onw nests? What was the path forward for the party...not the individuals like Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer? Putting aside the ability to govern something more complicated than a small city with only sixty busses, which was royally cocked-up in any case, they decided to pick a man who likely wouldn’t even be alive in four years. This was a cynical attempt to keep things exactly the way they are now. Rather than planning for the future. Another problem was the big tent approach which put man eating tigers in the same tent as sexually confused sheep. Blacks and gays hate each other. Lesbians hate EVERYBODY.

With fantastic cheating and the help of Communist China, the Democrats won. But the fantasy that they’d be able to make a man whose brain is nearly dead, look presidential and rule from behind him is long over. Assuming the judges who all, wrongly in most cases, ruled against Trump, have learned from their mistakes, the next election will “mostly” be fair and the Democrats will “mostly” be eliminated...probably for a decade or more, from the public consciousness.

FWIW, I don’t think Feep State gives a rat’s hairy end how things look.

If they did, they would have picked BiteMe and Heels Up to install.

I think their problem now is that they far overestimated BiteMe’s USE BY date and are now scrambling to deal with that.

On the other hand, and since I come from a centuries-long line of optimists, I suppose someone could have made Deep State an offer it can’t refuse, and Deep State is about to make Trump veep, with BiteMe to shuffle off shortly thereafter.

Stop blowing smoke.   The so called "Election Integrity Act of 2021" here in Georgia codified into law the illegal cheats they got away with in the 2020 election.

That's a good post. Several things follow from that. When the House flips GOP -- and it will -- Nanzi, Hoyer, and Clyburn are OUT, whether they retire or not, they are all OUT of Minority House Leadership.

You will see a catfight like none ever witnessed where The Squat demands one of them get either Nanzi's or Hoyer's position.
