Jake Angeli, shamanic practitioner, leads the crowd in a yell before the march in solidarity with climate activism groups across the country to the Arizona State Capitol Building Friday, September 20, 2019.

So...how does this guy go from protesting for more government intervention on behalf of climate change...to "storming" the Capitol less than 2 years later??? Hmmmm...

“He made himself the very image of the riot."

So he's being punished excessively because he wore a weird outfit? Is that what "justice" has come to in this country?

Even if he was a false flag (I personally think he’s a bit touched, with no firm beliefs), three years is extreme for trespassing.

“What you did was terrible,” Lamberth added later, imposing the lower end of the federal guidelines. “You made yourself the epitome of the riot.”

Lamberth never ceases to à muser. First of all, "epitome"? Just, no.

"Embodiment", maybe. "Totem" would have been apropos.

But epitome is always reserved for complimentary speech, and for f's sake, even the sentence (grammar, not prison time) is structured to give the defendant the exact kind of gratification he was seeking in the first place!

Is Judge lambert going to arrest trick-or-treaters for wearing scary outfits and pressuring people to give them candy? Is trick-or-treat a threat of violence?

At least now there will be something to appeal and he can get out of the DC Jail gulag.

Lamberth channeling his inner Judge Freisler.

Despite what you say, nothing factual in the article seems to justify what has befallen this man. His lawyer appears to have set him up like a bowling pin. The judge appears to have simply used him.

I think he was an attention seeker more than anything political. And, yes, this was extremely excessive. He dared to upset the overlords.

He’s a Reagan appointee, and a Republican. So, there’s that...

Nothing new here. Plenty of fascists in both Parties. It’s the Repubs who gave us the evil Patriot Act.

Had he been ANTIFA trying to keep a dem in office he would have been condemned for the same actions. If we are a nation of laws, then we have to want them applied whether it impacts our side or not.

I hope Ray Epps is satisfied and smug about taking advantage of this half a moron.

So wearing a costume is now the reason for a sentence?
Anyone recall when DC was filled with pink hats? That was pretty ridiculous too. How about Antifa in all black and gas masks?

What did he actually do ?
Say the charges. And leave it at that.

That buffoon was the image of the riot?
Frankly I think he deserves his own challenge coin.

“ In their legal brief, prosecutors argued that a heavy sentence is needed to demonstrate that “crimes committed against this country and democracy will be prosecuted and punished in accordance with the law.””

Wow. They certainly are selective. If only there was justice for the crimes committed against this country by the FBI and the DOJ. Their hypocrisy is outrageous.
