We have the “service” of electric scooters around here. They are treated quite shabbily. And they are subsidized and are of much less value than a Tesla and don’t lend themselves to private drug deals, sex deals, or toilets.

I drive uber in Fayetteville Arkansas (woo pig) and these things are scattered everywhere.
We had the Walmart public bikes too. That program lasted literally a week before they were all gone. I sometimes see them behind houses or piled up in the homeless camps.
