A sad, true observation.
Something that really has horrified me on FR which is one of my more safe spots is, when there is anything about a female teacher molesting a male student. The men here often post how they wished they had such a teacher. Applauding child molestation. It horrifies me. How can they not realize the damage.
More sad and more true: A lot of people don’t give a damn what happens to their kids anymore. Porn has really broken down a lot of the connections that used to exist between family members and community. Silence and guilt. Guys speaking up to defend porn or act like it’s not such a big deal - they have more loyalty to porn than to their own families and it goes without saying their self-respect and effectiveness at dealing with everyday life situations. (Part of the defense of porn involves regular, everyday women not being good enough for them or “all these women you see are feminazis and I’m not turned on by them” and so on, but then they complain about the quality of TV shows and society breaking down, blah, blah, like there’s no correlation.)
I used to think porn was not that big of a deal myself, right? An ex-bf was all about porn and I didn’t share his enthusiasm for it, but I considered it normal for guys to have this stuff around. Until one day I found some that I wasn’t supposed to see! That changed everything. In one blinding flash, I realized that there was really no such thing as acceptable porn, that it was all bad, and a porn addiction always gets worse, with worse effects on everyone around the porn addict, whether they know about the addiction or not. And, you know, they say it’s supposed to “free” you to be open about consuming pornography, right? But this guy HID stuff that he didn’t want me to see, and for good reason. There’s nothing liberating about it; you become more and more enslaved.
Russia and China, and other enemies, are fully aware of the USA’s porn problems. They’re using it to degrade and undermine Western Civilization while banning it in their own nations.
I don’t know if you know any young folks who aren’t in your immediate family - I’ve known a few who grew up with their parents watching porn and they were able to watch it any time. They were like “Hey it’s great! Look at this thing I found the other day!” and then they pass it along and you know, when I was 15 or 16, I was never curious about how any of that stuff looked. I found it disturbing and I still do. But these are kids in high school passing around really nasty stuff that promotes EXTREMELY unsafe behavior and even participating in it, to the great delight of perverts all around the world.
So, every single one of these kids I got to know turned out to be completely at a loss when it comes to normal relationships! They brag about all the wild sex they have - with people picked up in clubs and with the aid of Viagra because drugs and booze - but then constantly reveal that they are desperately unhappy. People I know who are now in their 20s will probably NEVER have a fulfilling heterosexual relationship in their lives because of the interference of porn. (Not saying that’s what I have, but I do know what one looks like.)
There was a guy I used to “date” a long time ago (I put date in quotes because I almost never go on dates - he was sleeping at my place, all right?) who wanted me to watch porn with him. I hated it! He was an otherwise nice person and I’m pretty sure he wanted to get married but that just was like NO. Every time a guy says something to me about liking porn, or wants me to watch porn, or whatever, I’m just like “Oh crikey, not this again.” It’s really disappointing, but on the other hand (no pun intended), I discovered that celibacy and chastity are very underrated and both have rewards that transcend whatever benefit one can derive from sex obsession.
That’s yet another reason I have no use for g4b.ai, because it’s mostly for porn. They always say, “Just mute it out!” You know, like it won’t be there if you mute it. Participating in a site that’s all about porn puts your tacit stamp of approval on a brutal industry that doesn’t just suck the life out of those who participate in it, but out of everyone.
I wouldn’t outlaw porn because it’s too late and it wouldn’t do any good. Our society is on the downward slide. Pretty soon the pornographers will be too busy trying to figure out where to hide out the storm to produce their exploitive garbage.
