House social spending bill would cut SSN requirement for child tax credit
New York Post ^ | 11/16 | Callie Patteson

House Democrats’ sweeping $1.75 trillion social spending bill would remove the requirement that child tax credit claimants have a valid Social Security number — potentially opening the way for illegal immigrants and their children to receive billions in benefits.

The provision on page 1,647 of the 2,135-page Build Back Better Act — which Democratic leaders are hoping to put to a House vote this week — would repeal 26 US Code § 24 paragraph 7, which details the Social Security number requirement to obtain child tax credits.

“No credit shall be allowed under this section to a taxpayer with respect to any qualifying child unless the taxpayer includes the Social Security number of such child on the return of tax for the taxable year,” the current code reads.

By repealing this requirement, the bill would expand child tax credits to parents of children who don’t have Social Security numbers — including many illegal immigrants.

Do the younger voters know what taxes will be needed to cover all the support for illegals, spending and debt? Those who pay taxes in the future will be swamped by inflation and taxes.

The EIC program already allows support of overseas children, to include distant relatives.

All you have to do is declare the names of the kids in mexico you are supporting. No way to verify.

So it was already a scam and a half.

If you are illegal and have not gotten SSNs or taxpayer ID numbers for your rugrats you can claim them on the tax forms.

Pay people who can’t afford to have children to have more children.

Brilliant!

No one has to work. It’s easy. You just have the government print money. As much as they want and as much as the freeloaders need, and then just distribute it.

There will always be enough for everybody, because when it starts to run low - you just print more. Plus, you don’t need to make things here in the US (besides printing money), because you can just ‘buy’ it from some other country - who will be so happy to take the paper money we print. It’s so easy. Everyone can just do what they want, not work, get all the money they want from the government, and buy stuff.

Worked at a place with some black people in it. Not a very high end job, and they all talked about passing kids around between families when they did their benefit submissions. With this these types of frauds probably won’t even need to bother with that.

They had to put the SS# requirement on tax returns long time ago, as people took deductions for Fido and Canary.
Regardless of illegals, this is a recipe for massive fraud. They probably will get the requirement in anyway or billions would be lost for fraud.
With Democrats, I am not sure. They always play ignorance when they mean fraud.

Sound fair to me. Dispense the benefits but do not require the recipients to be paying SS taxes to help others
.
Well, that assumes they’d have jobs, anyway, and we all know jobs and paying taxes are racist /s

Just grooming potential Democratic voters.

Crush the American welfare state with expenditures and the world government steps in to implement austerity measures to cut pensions, social security, 401K account balance raiding, and anything else of value. That’s what our great reset is.
