Alex Jones Loses Lawsuit Over Sandy Hook 'Hoax' Conspiracy
US News ^ | November 15, 2021 | Dave Collins

Infowars host and conspiracy theorist Alex Jones was found liable Monday for damages in lawsuits brought by parents of children killed in the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting over Jones' claims that the massacre was a hoax.

Judge Barbara Bellis took the rare step of defaulting Jones in the defamation lawsuits for his and his companies' “failure to produce critical material information that the plaintiffs needed to prove their claims.” The default means the judge found in favor of the parents and will hold a hearing on how much damages he should pay.

Lawyers for the parents claimed Jones and his companies, including Infowars and Free Speech Systems, violated court rules by failing to turn over documents to them, including internal company documents showing how, and if, Jones and Infowars profited from talking about the school shooting and other mass shootings.

“Their pattern of defying and ignoring court orders to produce responsive information is well established,” lawyers for the family wrote in a court brief in July.

Don’t know what the background of the suit is, but it will be tossed somewhere on appeal.

If that stands, half the country can sue the nets over their deceptive coverage.

I do not know much about this Mr. Jones, but since when does a defendant have to provide material support to the legal team prosecuting him?

If they have a case, then let THEM provide the proof! It’s backwards.

It was stupid for Jones to have these segments, but he did them when Obama was President.

The request was apparently for financial records to “prove” Jones and his companies made money from the defamation. Yet I see no evidence that making money or profiting from defamation is an element in proving defamation. It surely goes to the question of damages after the defamation is established but it has nothing to do with establishing defamation occurred. Sounds like a harassing fishing expedition into Jones’ dealings.

This is no big deal. After a jury awards any damages then Alex Jones and any companies he owns involved in the case can file for bankruptcy. His payments will be minimal if anything at all.

It was idiotic of him to claim Sandy Hook was a hoax but as others have mentioned- this should open the door to millions of lawsuits against left wing networks for the hoax they continually push.

Damages for acts rooted in malice or fraud cannot be discharged in bankruptcy. One could argue fraud and perhaps malice as well.

Jones claimed the Sandy Hook shootings were a hoax, the parents of the victims sued for defamation, Jones lost. He might reach a lower settlement but I doubt it's going to get tossed on appeal.

It's called 'disclosure' and both sides are required to turn over relevant documents to the other side.

If they have a case, then let THEM provide the proof! It’s backwards.

Would you like them to dig up the children for proof?

It’ll get overturned on appeal. She demanded records of how much money he earned from discussions of Sandy hook and who paid him for that coverage. He turned over something like 11 years of records and said no record that she asked for exists.
That there was no billing or sponsorship tying to any individual news story.

She said he failed to produce it. She will be overturned on appeal. Also, there is no video of him saying it was a false flag, not one. Some people were claiming there were crisis actors in the crowd and that a victims father a smiling and laughing just before he stepped up before the camera. It was weird, and it was discussed, but he never declared it was a hoax. He merely had a discussion as to whether it might be. This based on several government lies about Oklahoma City, 9/11, and WMDs. Government does lie.

Appeal coming.

You should post a video showing him claiming it was a hoax. No such video exists so far. If you’ve managed to see one you should share it.

So you're saying that there is zero evidence that Jones claimed Sandy Hook was a hoax and yet after a trial they found him guilty anyway? Really?

Jones was correct about this: it was a false flag action to gin up support for gun confiscation laws. How exactly it was executed (hah) I don’t know, because a) I wasn’t there, and b) don’t plan to ever set foot in that commie state ever again.

[[Jones claimed the Sandy Hook shootings were a hoax, the parents of the victims sued for defamation, Jones lost. ]]

Which brings up the point that if found innocent, Kyle Rittenhouse can sue the msm who have called him a murderer, and who profited off that claim by drawing in viewers over their dishonest coverage, for defamation

I think it was CBS or one of the alphabet networks that claimed he was a murderer in a post, then they deleted it afterwards, .ikely after a lawyer told them they could be sued if Kyle is found innocent. I hope Kyle’s lawyer has access to the now deleted post

I don't see why he couldn't. Good luck to him.
