Hi Kathy. 79 years ago to the day the US Navy suffered it's worst defeat during day and night fighting the Imperial Japanese Navy on November 13/14, 1942.

Outnumbered and outgunned the sailors out up a brave fight, causing the Japanese to abandon a resupply effort on Guadalcanal but at a tremendous cost to the US Navy.

It was in this action that the five Sullivan Brothers were lost on the cruiser U.S.S. Juneau.
