MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — Minnesota hospitals are scrambling to make room for patients as patients needing medical care for COVID-19 have hit a high for the year.
Hospitals have delayed non-essential procedures, diverted less serious cases to outpatient clinics, and treated emergency room patients in hallways and ambulance bays that have been converted to urgent care centers, the St. Paul Pioneer Press reported.
“We don’t have anywhere to put our new patients as they come in,” said Dr. Mark Sannes, senior medical director and infectious disease specialist for HealthPartners. “Normally, they’d be up in an emergency room bed. It’s true across the state. We’re in constant communication with the other health systems … and there are no beds anywhere.”
While some people who are fully vaccinated have been hospitalized, most people with severe illness are those who have not received a vaccine.

They have had two years to prepare. Two years to expand capacity. Two years to add personnel.
Wait until the illegal immigrants get there.
Is the problem beds or available nurses?
Did they fire personnel for not getting vaccinated?
(I didn’t bother to read the article...)
:)
“ …most people with severe illness are those who have not received a vaccine.”
They never give you stats. Always general BS ‘opinion’ statements, because they dont want to show the actual stats.
Gotta keep it going.
Too many “weasel words” in that article. A discerning reader should know that the “lack of beds” is a term that diverts attention from the fact that thousands of health care workers have been forced out of their jobs because they refuse the “vaccine”.
Says there’s not enough beds in the Emergency Rooms.
No mention of ICU being needed, or full hazmat gear.
This will keep happening as long as early treatment protocols are withheld and denied. Also this should have been expected because WINTER.
Hopefully Haitians, Afghans, and Somalians...
There was a study posted here a couple months, or so, ago claiming just over 50% of people hospitalized for Covid have minor cases and do not need medical intervention. Maybe the media and idiots in power should stop scaring people, making them think they will die of they get the virus. They would likely have the resources to treat those who really need help.
Thank you. I didn’t want to break the trend of posting an opinion without reading the article.
So 2 years and nothing changed.
Even without Covid, are Boomers are getting old...
Maybe there wouldn’t be such a crisis if people were encouraged to use easily available prophylactics like Vitamins C, D3, A, and K2, zinc, quercetin, black cumin seed oil, probiotics, melatonin, Budesonide, Betadine, and a few others. Instead, the use of such products has been discouraged, even mocked. It’s all been, “Get vaccinated, or else!”
From that statement, it could 51% unvaccinated 49% vaccinated and be true.
Were they vaxxed?
Ben, they added the personnel and were ready for a new surge. But the vaccine mandate made the hospitals fire them all.
Articles like this of propaganda are carefully crafted to subvert the truth while spinning a narrative the scares the hell out of those dumb enough to believe it.
Many interpretations can be had with this little gem from within the article: ‘While some people who are fully vaccinated have been hospitalized, most people with severe illness are those who have not received a vaccine.’
They are acknowledging fully vaccinated are hospitalized, however the “most” illnesses are not tagged as being covid related.
They need to give honest stats, such as the percentage of beds used for non-covid, the percentage of beds used for covid fully vaxed, and the percentage of beds used for covid, unvaxed.
By coming out and saying “hospitalized, most people with severe illness are those who have not received a vaccine.”, they are implying any illness is caused by not receiving the vax. In other words, if 87 year old John collapses from a heart attack, it’s his fault for not getting vaxed. Same goes for Mrs Jones with cancer, or Mr Smith in for a knee replacement.
Is HealthPartners a hospital system? I didn’t see AP mention a specific hospital in the article at the link. I wonder why?
