Yeah - I doubt that would happen today since the government is loaded with communists.
But big reason Bannon will skate is because he can claim executive privilege. Executive privilege is a very big deal because the delegation of powers doctrine. The three branches are meant to balance each other out - so they make it difficult for one branch to prosecute another.
That’s the same reason impeachment rarely leads to removal. The better solution is to let the voters settle it in the next election.
Which works fine until they start stealing elections.
