On Saturday’s broadcast of MSNBC’s “Velshi,” Sen. Mazie Hirono (D-HI) said she agrees with the notion that people don’t care about gas prices if they can’t afford child care so they can work.
Guest host Maria Teresa Kumar said, “One of the things that we saw was a historic infrastructure bill that passed that’s going to alleviate, not just our roads and clean water, but has implications for a brighter future when it comes to climate energy and so on and so forth. However, now, the second part of this plan, the human infrastructure, the one that will build back the population we need to actually drive on those roads and take advantage of those electric vehicles is up for discussion. Sen. Manchin right now seems again to say that he may not vote for this bill because of inflation and, senator, one of the things I often have conversations with is that people could care less about the price at the pump if they can’t pay for child care and get back to work. Can you speak to this?”

These people occupy a completely different world that I do. Married families in which the woman stays home with the children do not need “child care” except when Mommy needs a day off, and that can be Dad and the Kids Day.
What percentage of Americans does this ditz think have kids in day care?
Bidung musta went to the same Democrap retreat as Hirono-know nothing.

Mazie Hirono: ‘We Democrats know so much’ that we tend to alienate voters
by Jessica Chasmar The Washington Times, December 5, 2018
Sen. Mazie Hirono suggested Tuesday that Democrats have a hard time connecting with voters because their breadth of knowledge tends to turn people off.
The Hawaii Democrat made the comment during a discussion at the “Bend Towards Justice” conference in Washington when she was asked by Slate editor Dahlia Lithwick how to make the judicial system a top campaign issue for voters.
“One of the things that we Democrats have a really hard time is connecting to people’s hearts instead of here,” Ms. Hirono responded, pointing at her head, according to a clip flagged by the Republic National Committee. “We’re really good at shoving out all the information that touch people here [points to the brain] but not here [points to the heart].”
“I’ve been saying it at all our Senate Democratic retreats we need to speak to the heart, not in a manipulative way, not in a way that brings forth everybody’s fears and resentments, but truly to speak to the heart so that people know that we’re actually on their side,” she continued.
“We have to kind of tell everyone how smart we are, and so we have a tendency to be very left-brain,” the senator added.
Add Ms. Hirono: “We Democrats know so much” it can alienate voters.
Hirono should read this, but she won’t understand it......./s.

Republican congressional candidates hold their largest lead in midterm election vote preferences in ABC News/Washington Post polls dating back 40 years, underscoring profound challenges for Democrats hoping to retain their slim majorities in Congress next year.
While a year is a lifetime in politics, the Democratic Party’s difficulties are deep; they include soaring economic discontent, a president who’s fallen 12 percentage points under water in job approval and a broad sense that the party is out of touch with the concerns of most Americans; 62 percent say so.
