Florida Governor Ron DeSantis has called state legislators to come together next week for a special session to consider several proposals that push back against Biden’s authoritarian COVID-19 vaccine mandates for workers and employers.
The main piece of legislation being weighed is a proposal to decide whether the state should withdraw itself from the partisan oversight of Biden’s Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). The measure was introduced earlier this month and sponsored by Republicans Sen. Travis Hutson and Rep. Ardian Zika after OSHA had finally issued its Emergency Temporary Standard relating to Biden’s vaccine mandate for businesses with 100 employees or more.
Some of the other proposals that will be discussed by lawmakers next week include: preventing government employees from being forced into vaccination, requiring employers to allow vaccine exemptions for workers, prohibiting the state’s surgeon general from forcing anyone to get vaccinated against their wishes, giving parents the sole authority over vaccination status and mask-wearing by their children in schools, and giving workers the ability to sue over vaccine mandates, among other important measures.
Florida’s legislature – thanks to decisive action by Governor DeSantis to call a special session – is demonstrating to the rest of the republican states in the nation that they are taking the fight against Biden’s federal overreach extremely seriously – they have already been right about resisting lockdowns and other authoritarian measures to limit the spread of the virus – and now they are leading the way once again in the fight against the federal mandates.

Now this is how you fight.
Hopefully our next President.
I want to move back there…
“I can’t spare this man, he fights!”
TN Governor Bill Lee signed something very similar in Tennessee today.
OSHA should be rejected by every state and their minions met quietly with cement shoes.
Yay!!!!
They will never get the ear of conservatives as long as they have a senile man who mumbles for the world to see and invite attack... and as long as he can threaten others all his life. ... and as long as they let hunter’s laptop sit idle and care nothing about his crimes.. and as long as they let the border be wide open and no checks on anyone, while we are being mandated ... and as long as the justice dept,. the fbi, and all the departments of the corrupt government go on as they have.... forget indicting Bannon (who is evidently too close over the target) and forget going after Trump and anyone supporting him.. God is in HIs heaven and He knows how to take care of our blessed Republic!
Yep. I’m thinking he’d be better than Trump.
“Hopefully our next President.”
Not going to happen. Desantis is a big Trump supporter. Desantis will not ever enter into Republican Presidential Politics against President Trump. Desantis has made this very clear.
That said, the dems and their media propagandists fear Desantis. They have engaged in a, “Try to Destroy Him before he runs for President in the Future” campaign against Desantis for more than a year now.
The more his policies succeed the harder they will try to destroy him. It’s what they do.
Yes, Perhaps the start of a pendulum swing.
Yes, we and the nation, need him right where his is thru the next election. He will still be extremely viable in 28
DeSantis will be the next President of the United States.
2028 would be 4 years too late.
Oklahoma, Florida, the road to secession begins.
And... Trump will be the next governor of Florida.
DeSantis better understands / believes in the properly limited role of the central government. There he'd have a full 8 years to lead the fight to free the states.
Trump would make a great governor. He can continue as the bigger-than-life executive. Plus, he could actually employ a unified administration and have an amiable legislative branch to help him lead the race for most successful of the increasingly independent free states. Make America compete again. Internally where it does the most good.
It's a better fit age-wise as well. Trump would be at home, no DC swamp. Could be gov into a much older age than viable as prez. Both legally and physically.
Forget the silly SOTH plan for Trump. He would not try that scheme, wrong fit. But Trump and DeSantis could go on a 8 year run of what we really need: The Greater Reset. Back to federalism!
In any case, if it comes down to picking one of the two based solely on covid performance? Increasingly DeSantis is running away with that issue and Trump is stuck on ego.
Those are really good ideas.
