OTTAWA---Canada's spy service said on Friday it was increasingly concerned about the rise of violent ideologically motivated online rhetoric, which it blamed in part on tensions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Canadian Security Intelligence Service (CSIS) said since the start of the pandemic, threats posed by extremists had "evolved with unprecedented multiplicity and fluidity."
COVID-19 it said, has worsened existing strains of xenophobia and anti-authoritarianism. Violent extremists were exploiting the pandemic by amplifying false informaton about government measures and the virus, it said.
Protesters opposed to mandatory vaccinations have blocked access to hospitals across Canada and abused medical staff, both in person and online.
"Online rhetoric that is increasingly violent and calls for the arrest and execution of specific individuals is of increasing concern," CSIS said in a statement...

CSIS is the CIA in Canada.
Canaduh’s IC feels threatened by some actual anti-fascists.
Good, they should be worried and they caused it.
Who exactly might those individuals be? Enquiring minds want to know.

Justin Trudeau comes to mind as a communist in dire need of an execution. After a fair trial, of course.
anti-authoritarianism
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Lovers of liberty.
Freedom is dangerous/s
There is zero chance of a Canadian court trying anybody for being a communist. It has never been illegal here, just actively spying for the USSR was illegal and brought prosecutions (most famous was the Gouzenko affair in the postwar late 1940s). But otherwise it is entirely safe if not particularly a good move socially to declare oneself to be a communist, to run for parliament as a communist or Marxist-Leninist, and it is not an absolute barrier to advancement in the public service either.
At the same time obviously there is very little point in pushing some orthodox communist line when the mainstream leftwing parties here are communist enough to get the job done (after enriching every last man, Jack and dog who ever helped the parties).
As to CSIS being “increasingly” concerned, that is more or less untrue, they have been concerned for at least twenty years and probably closer to forty (in earlier times they did not have the name CSIS, but operated within the RCMP).
The threat is of course tremendously overstated and entirely blind to the real problems we face, such as Chinese infiltration of all levels of our governments (including municipal apparently, at least in terms of large cities where they can get advantages, they probably don’t bother the mayors or councils of smaller places — yet).
It was widely speculated that CSIS had infiltrated a number of conservative on-line communities of varying mainstream to radical views, as early as 2005 and certainly by about 2010 so this is nothing new. And what they accomplished was basically nothing, they just radicalized people further and drove them all into larger groups. Brilliant.
This is why the social media censorship is so dangerous. They will get exactly what they claim to be trying to prevent because of their own dictatorial actions.
Their key is that fewer and fewer Canadians are saying “sorrry” as they used to,eh?
The ‘violence’ we see with respect to this scandemic is primarily coming from the Vax Cultists opining about all sorts of things like banning unvaxxed from everywhere, interning them, imprisoning them, and fining and exacting revenge in any number of ways. The worst of them on social media, many notable luminaries of entertainment, are the most vile and vocal villains this country has ever seen. It truly is reminiscent of the yellow star days of Germany at War.
Decades later, CSIS’s white supremacy infiltrator tells his story
Exactly, anyone who values liberty and freedom is anti-authoritarianism.
