Is it a race if we don’t participate?

This may be under active discussion in the White House right now. Only thing is Uncle Joe is not presently allowed to be in that locked door room. He would present too much of a distraction.

The race is how fast Biden/WH can confiscate our guns.

China is racing to build weapons of war.
America is racing to build a military that doesn't know what sex they are.

...this so-called arms race is just now getting underway...?? for Pete’s sake, China has been surging ahead of us in military research for years and years, and our military’s greatest threats seem to be white supremacy and climate change....how do you say “We surrender....!!” in Mandarin...??

I worked in the military /industrial complex for over thirty years. We don’t “mass” manufacture anything. Even if you have a multi year contract for hundreds or even thousands of an item the funding is authorized each year. Meaning nobody who builds anything significant for the military automates. Almost everything is hand built. That’s because if you paid to automate then Congress could cancel the funding and you’d be out the expense. Automation lowers the cost per unit but only makes sense if you’re building a lot of something. Thus, it’s entirely possible to run out of, say, antiaircraft missiles. Because either your stock was taken out in a first strike, or you simply fired all of them. This happened to the UK who supported the Hillary Clinton destruction of Libya. They ran out of cruise missiles.

All the military calculations I’ve seen assume that we start the war or there is no first strike taking out vast numbers of material. Then, they start figuring the burn rate from there. But a general for the CCP wrote that their doctrine required a substantial decapitation strike.

The way we build weapons and ships today it would take a decade or more of maximum effort to recover from such a strike. In the mean time we would have conceded whatever it was China wanted. Now, we have allies, but each has its own problems. The Japanese, for example, spend much of their budget on pay and benefits. They don’t have nearly the hardware that their substantial budget suggests. Also, they build boutique style without machines, like we do. India is so corrupt that their money is not efficiently spent. Korea is too small to put up a substantial fight and their demographics, like Japan, won’t allow a sudden surge in manpower or production. Australia is too small and their production is like the pre Thatcher UK automotive business. (Lots of strikes, slowdowns and union bunk.)

If Biden wanted to improve our economy he could put us on a war footing so we can maintain a credible deterrent. Because, believe me, the deterrent is gone. The only thing holding China back is their present political instability. And, that instability might create an Argentine/Falkland’s scenario where they take Taiwan to focus attention on the outside of China.

Not sure how to interpret the giffs. Yes we built hundreds of thousands of top grade equipment in four short years. But that equipment was only slightly more complex than cars of the period. The big limiting factor today is software and IC’s. It would take a long time to go through the process of building that and proofing the software. A recent study showed that China was somewhere in the supply chain for significant materials.

Thanks to the free traitors, we’re paying to build up their military instead of ours.

For sure, man. China is showing the world how to build carriers that don’t float and how to land aircraft below the waterline.

Carry on, Sir Knight.
