OXFORD, CT (WFSB) – An investigation is underway after multiple people were seen stealing shopping carts full of items from an Oxford grocery store early Tuesday morning. The incident happened just after 6:30 a.m. on Tuesday at the Market 32 store on Oxford Road. Police said they were notified about 10 minutes after multiple people were seen filling shopping carts full of items inside the store, walking out without paying, and then filling two SUVs that were waiting outside. It is believed those vehicles were stolen.

A fortune in stolen goods, prices to go up for honest shoppers to make up for the losses, probably stolen SUVs.
Then....
Cops called eventually.
“No charges will be made as officers did not personally
witness a crime and surveillance images were unclear. Both the SUVs were abandoned after stolen merchandise had been transferred to luxury cars with dark tinted windows seen driving away——without license plates.”
“One box of Chickeny Ramen Noodles was dropped and is being returned to the supermarket by officers.”

They are setting up shop somewhere, they each had a dozen jugs of laundry detergent.
Not a new thing. I remember working at a grocery store in the 1970’s and being warned of people filling shopping carts with meat and then walking out without paying.
A laundry?................. Yeah, right................. They sell the detergent for half price and use the proceeds to buy drugs.....................
Plates covered up, and of course they were wearing masks!
This is what a breakdown of polite society looks like. Most stores don’t have security, and cops won’t arrive in time unless you are in a small town. And even then, I live in a small town and the incident reports of crimes in supermarket parking lots are on the uptick.

I’ve heard that’s how folks monetize food stamps in the hood.
Buy cases of soap, diapers, etc, and take it to another store where the guy buys it for cash at 50 cents on the dollar. Then just adds it to his stock.
