I’m totally ignorant on the subject, but a syringe and some liquid would seem easy to sneak in.
Since 9/11, every concert I attended has metal detectors and wands and frisking ticket takers. I’ve seen pocket knives getting confiscated. There is no way a guy could smuggle in a dozen syringes.
