Democratic boosters and others called for a mistrial in the trial of Kyle Rittenhouse after Judge Bruce Schroeder cell phone went off mid-hearing, playing “God Bless The U.S.A.”

Schroeder’s phone went off momentarily in court on Wednesday and the judge’s mic picked up his ringtone, broadcasting it to the courtroom and those watching the proceedings online. Schroeder, appearing annoyed, immediately silenced his phone and moved on with the trial.

I believe that every person should have a DIFFERENT ring tone of their own choosing, so that you don't see 20 people in a restaurant pulling out their phone to see if it's their phone. In my case, I use a couple of ring tones. My default ring tone is the opening chord from a pip organ symphony -- cuts through the ambient noise and is distinctive. (My alarm is the opening from Pink Floyd's "Time" from Wish You Were Here, aka The Prism Album.)
