If this DA could experience everything Kyle did... would be wonderful.

If this DA were in the same situation he would have crapped his pants, followed by either his own instant death or blind panic followed by him spraying everyone on that street, guilty and innocent alike, with bullets. The calm and restraint that Kyle showed that night was almost superhuman. It was truly astounding to watch. He did everything exactly right. This is a really great kid, and I think his testimony today really reinforced that.

Agreed, though some youthful misjudgements that might bite him a little. To be 'clean' in self defense one cant have dirty hands. I think Kyle is clean but the prosecutor is certainly trying to bring out nit factors that he could exploit to make Kyle look dirty. Driving w/o a license, not obeying curfew order, etc. The DL thing is just stupid in the context of this trial. And unless anyone else was arrested for a curfew violation, that is also stupid. But thats where the prosecutor wants to go. That, and trying to say Kyle's attackers were in fear of being shot by Kyle is all he has to go with.

He did everything exactly right.

Considering that was only Kyle's second time even using his rifle, and according to his testimony he never even fired it at distance, I'd say he was well taught, naturally skilled, or very lucky. Probably a combination of all three with emphasis on luck.

This is a really great kid, and I think his testimony today really reinforced that.

I also think he did well today (the strain was showing), but you and I know the subject matter. Hopefully his jury has some knowledge of practical personal defense and guns, and an understanding of the stress of being in a shooting situation and making decisions in those critical moments. But its not a given that the jury has that common sense knowledge anymore.

>>>The calm and restraint that Kyle showed that night was almost superhuman.<<<

I don’t think that I would be at all shocked to one day discover that the footage from this incident will be used in police academies to teach self-defense and restraint. He did all that and he is only a police cadet.
