I have a cousin who was an 18 Echo (special Forces Engineer iirc), who’s a complete leftoid. After the Pulse nightclub shooting he let his totalitarian flag fly on the issue of guns while still regularly participating bon shooting competitions with the very guns he thinks the average citizen shouldn’t be allowed to own. Total POS, and I would not want to see him run for any office, ever.
That’s great. We need to get veterans to run for all levels of government, for Boards of Education and every government elected position.The majority of veterans are sensible, conservative thinkers and doers.
There’s a sentiment rising in US military circles which goes back to prehistoric times. Something like “I served the king so now I get mine”. Roman soldiers used to get paid in land grants, same with English soldiers [which is why we have Northern Ireland problems today] and same with all kinds of armies to the beginning of civilization.

Disagree with you. Military needs to stand clear of politics. What we NEED in government are average joes who know how to balance a checkbook, but these types (working class) are aggressively kept out.
Democrats might be ‘getting theirs’ since they’re all liars and thieves and corrupt A-holes - or stupid gullible useful idiots... but I doubt SEALS are doing this for ‘democrat/sicko’ reasons.

I didn’t say “military.” I said “veterans.”
Veterans are those who have already given a part of their lives to their country and now have become a part of the community - factory workers, teachers, lawyers, business men/women, etc. They are the people who we need running for elected offices throughout the US.
Surveys have consistently shown most veterans are conservative - not all, but most.
