If we don’t finally see what’s at the end of the universe with this one, I’m gonna be disappointed.

Lets hope that the telescope survives the launch and reaches its proper orbit.
From what I’ve read this telescope is going to be so far away from the earth that there will be No service calls in the event there are technical and equipment issues.
Hopefully they built this telescope and launch vehicle right.

I’m praying for success. There are SO many things that could go wrong. If the machine works it will be a giant leap forward in our collective knowledge about where we live.

Twenty five years and billions in cost over runs?
Did Comey and Mueller have their fingers into this too?

Was me in charge, I would stop at lower earth orbit and deploy the thing, then gently move it the rest of the way.
Something not unfold just right or whatever, ain’t no one going up to the final orbit to fix it.

One might prefer the Jack Webb telescope: it would just show the facts, ma’am.

It’s taken 25 years to build, has faced long delays, and cost many billions of dollars more than expectedTypical government project. 500 million project has 9.5 Billion overrun. Hope this one doesn't require glasses.

This will be 20 to 30 days of terror, so we will not sleep well at that time Oh, man, got my fingers crossed Webb works as planned. It's going to be an absolute disaster if doesn't.
To: MNDude
It’s not a successor to Hubble. Webb is an infrared scope and Hubble is a visible scope, and their are no plans to put a new visible scope up.
Elon Musk should offer to buy Hubble for a dollar and go save it. He could easily make his money back by renting time on it if he can figure out how to keep it up there.

Hopefully they built it correctly and won’t have to send up a repair mission like they had to do with the Hubble.
