Three Starbucks shops in New York could be the first in the massive US coffee chain to unionize, pending a worker vote set to start Wednesday.
A total of around 100 employees at the upstate shops in Buffalo, Cheektowaga and Hamburg will have four weeks to cast their ballots for or against forming a union at the locations, Bloomberg reported.
“It’s a much bigger deal than the number of [affected workers] would suggest. Winning is contagious, and it could spread like wildfire,” former National Labor Review Board Chair Wilma Liebman told the news outlet.

There is nothing wrong with anybody forming a union. It is a right that free people should be able to exercise.
But freedom should work both ways. The employer should have the freedom to fire anyone who goes on strike, and then permanently replace them (without the employer being harassed). That is rarely possible. And so the playing field is not level.
This is unbeliveable. These people think they can ‘get ahead’ by joining a union in a no-skill job. They’d be better off taking a welding course, or plumber or electrician.
Hollywood is looking for armorers. ;)
This union crap is probably a good indication that the Starbucks craze may be at an end. With the Biden “economy” people will be back to cans of Folgers.

I think the better indication is that the college craze is at an end, if your only job opportinity after a 4 year degree and $100,000 student loan is serving coffee.
I was so happy when the Starsucks closest to me went belly up. I drive past there constantly, and I don’t have to see that stupid hippie girl logo any more.

If these employees vote for the union Starbucks should just sell the three stores to some local mom and pop coffee store. Make it a business decision. I doubt snowflakes are seriously going to boycott their fancy coffee.
