After the way NASCAR demeaned their fans over the last year, I am astounded that anybody still watches it.

I don’t think she heard what the crowd was saying. But her producer did and quickly pulled “let’s go Brandon” out of his ass and told her to say that via her headset.
Fwiw, I live in the area, used to work near CMS and a lot of people around me work for a team or NASCAR in some way, but not me.
I’m just a life-long motorhead/car nut who likes racing and lives in the heart of NASCAR … not far off of the “Dale Trail”, if you’re a fan of local legend Dale Sr. and the #3 and do the tour when the races are here.

NASCAR committed suicide long ago—nothing left but chain the gates closed at the tracks.
When Steve Phelps stopped a race with cars on the track to lecture us about race, I decided that he did not need me as a fan, nor did he need the money I’ve spent on tickets and NASCAR clothing. I was also working with a track to have my employer exhibit at the fan zone. Yup, Steve Phelps lost another $15K a year to that track.
For him to say they don’t want to be political is the epitome of his loser mindset.
Haven’t watched NASCAR since and don’t miss it a bit.

As a new season begins Sunday with the Daytona 500, a new era of social consciousness has enveloped the sport and NASCAR is committed for the long haul. There’s not a Confederate flag to be found at the speedway. A large sign before an infield tunnel warns that the Stars and Bars are barred from the property, and compliance has not been a problem at Daytona.
In fact, NASCAR President Steve Phelps cited a brand tracking study by Directions Research that found that 1,750 self-identified “avid NASCAR fans” overwhelmingly supported the sanctioning body’s stance on social justice in 2020.
“It was a moment in time back in June that seemed, for us, it was the right time to act. I think it was the right time for our country. I think it was the right time for our sport. The response to that was fantastic,” Phelps said. “What we do in the areas of social justice and diversity equity inclusion is going to be authentic to who we are. May not be the right thing for the NBA, but it’s going to be the right thing for us.”
First of all, if the season is about to start, then we won't if these new policies will impact attendance. So the headline is an outright fantasy.

Third this doesn't foot with a different research study:
According to the study, nationwide NASCAR fans can be described as predominately males (78%), married (73%), with an average age of 42 years, who owns a home (81%), with 3.4 cars per household. The median household income range is between $35,000 and $50,000 and almost all are employed full time (87%).
NASCAR isn't full of rabid American Renaissance subscribers. They're decent people who probably have more minority friends than your average MSM reporter. But - unlike the avg reporter - they're not Pajama Boy either.
Time will tell.
