Most of the folks around here have been given THAT shot already.
I don't know the demographics of Freereublic, but I would guess that most people here have not had the smallpox vaccine.
They stopped mass smallpox vaccinations in 1970 or so. That means most everyone born since about 1963 is not vaccinated. The exception is some military who were in Iraq, some DOD civilians, and any high risk people.
So, smallpox might be an excellent choice for a mass depopulation scheme where the elite could protect themselves.
I was born on 1964, and was vaccinated. Everyone in my immediate family was vaccinated, AFAIK, including a relative vorn in 1970 or so.
A CDC reply (we have to trust the CDC, right?/SARC)
“Does the smallpox vaccine last for life?
Smallpox vaccination can protect you from smallpox for about 3 to 5 years. After that time, its ability to protect you decreases. If you need long-term protection, you may need to get a booster vaccination.”
