A day after Fox News host Tucker Carlson’s monologue on opioid painkillers was leaked, conservative political commentator Jesse Watters replaced him on his talk show.
Watters appeared as a guest host on Tucker Carlson Tonight on Thursday night, where he discussed how an alleged Russian claim “changed the course of United States politics.”
Carlson reportedly underwent an emergency back surgery on Wednesday morning and then went to the studio to host his show at night, Fox News said.
However, in a recording obtained by Motherboard, Carlson can be heard saying he took a huge amount of opioid painkillers after the surgery and describing it as “one of the most intense experiences” of his life.
“I didn’t sleep literally one-second last night, and I was on so many f***ing drugs,” Carlson allegedly told his production crew.
He then went into the details of the alleged drugs provided to him for his post-surgery pain.

Lottsa addicts pay good money to take trips like that.
Dilaudid is some SERIOUSLY heavy stuff - I’ve had it twice, both for the same injury (major burns) and it will addict you without you even knowing it. Hope Tucker is steadfast.
Should not have:
1. Had back surgery, only 35% chance of improvement
2. Gone to work high on prescription pain killers, it happens.
I didn’t find anything he said to be bizarre.
Oh well...
The woke crowd may congratulate him for succumbing to their lifestyle. /s
Drugs after surgery... and what exactly is the problem? Not doing his show? Your also not supposed to operate heavy equipment or do brain surgery... They print that right on the label.
They should have given him something milder.. Tucker's got enough money to ruin his life...
Amazing he made it on Wednesday night.. The Independent is trying to make a big deal of it... not uncommon for people to take opioids after surgery for cripes sake.
Dilaudid is something that you will likely NEVER see as a prescription; unless you’re on death’s door, it ain’t happening. Strictly limited to in-hospital injury/post-op.
Yahoo News is a bad joke.
Thought the sane thing. The left should applaud this…it’s what they promote.
God keep and bless Tucker. May he have a speedy and full recovery.
I broke my back and had to have surgery but without any prescription drugs....they instead put together an over the counter cocktail for pain after surgery. Lots of pills but none opium based as most pain killers are. I can’t take them without severe reactions.
Back injury’s are awfully painful...I had 6 fractured vertebra and two surgeries....it’’s a long road to recovery.
He said this “monologue” on his show? Sure seems to imply this from the title.
I took Dilaudid for very intense pain for months. Didn’t touch the pain. My doctor was unhappy to find I was still taking it and told me to stop.
I did. No problem. I found it worthless, anyway. Pretty much the same with Oxycodone.
“monologue” in the headline would seem to be a deception, as it suggests it was his monologue on the show.
but, as the article states:
“Carlson allegedly told his production crew”
I watched the show in question and don’t recall Tucker saying anything about opiods or his op.
I didn’t notice anything unusual with him at all Wednesday night..
Years ago, it used to be prescribed more widely, and was known among addicts as Heroin Helper.
Maybe his doctor’s a Democrat.
In any case I don’t see the shame of taking painkilling drugs prescribed by your doctor, after back surgery.
You could tell he was sick the other day...even his voice was not what it ought to be.
Up to a point, it’s better to be in pain than to take pills, but nobody should be telling TC what that point is, for him.
Tucker needs a long vacation from all this pressure.
Some people collect stress in their neck and shoulders, some in their stomach. Some have severe migraines when under prolonged pressure. I speculate that Tucker collects his stress in his back, in his spine.
I would advise him:
Do what works for you and your family.
Don’t be a martyr for the coorporation.
Everyone is replacable to some degree.
Rand Paul falls into that same catagory for a different entity.
