A ProPublica report published Thursday found Polis, a tech entrepreneur and former congressman, used donations and financial arrangements to get out of paying federal income taxes in 2013, 2014 and 2015.

How do you use donations to avoid income taxes?

Is he a 501C corporation?

Some donations are tax deductible. Give money to the right “charities or institutions” and you can deduct that from you income taxes. You’re still paying something to someone/something, but the government isn’t getting a penny of your money. And if I’m not mistaken, most charitable donations are ‘dollar for dollar’.

No different than big businesses writing off every rubber band they buy. Get enough deductions and the company tax liability goes to ZERO. It’s how GE, Amazon and so many others avoid the tax man.

Things most liberal millenial, Tax the Rich, Pay for My College, Pay for My Student Loans, don’t think or know about.
