Unfortunately I got near an accident right after a drunk driver hit a p/u head on, I was too far away to help, saw it from freeway overpass, no way to get there fast. the car caught fire immediately, the poor driver tried to get out I could see him trying to get out then he just slumped down and died, over in less than a minute. horrible, the smell was unforgettable. I can still see him clawing at the window trying to get out. some things you never forget.

Saw another where a drunk ran into back of flatbed and decapitated passenger..then a freak one got there just after, a car went around a curve in slow residential area, guy in back seat head went out the window a little just as a van coming from the other way hit him in the head, died immediately..

then there was the rolled new mercedes sedan, owners young son took his girlfriend for a drive, rolled it at high speed going downhill, it stopped when it hit a culvert, both came out fine, car looked like a crushed can, if it wasn't a mercedes probably both would have been fatal...his girlfriend broke her ankle on impact, that was it, saw many more those stick out....

A few years back I saw a wheel break off a semi axle and crash into a car windshield driving just ahead of me on the freeway. Killed the driver instantly and his front seat passenger managed to stop the car to save himself. When your time is up it’s up.

Good Lord, most people only witness one such accident in their lives, if any. I’ve never witnessed a fatal accident, even tho’ much of my life (over 65 y/o) I’ve lived at one or another somewhat hazardous highway (55 mph speed limit) intersection. Several accidents, sure, including two that sent vehicles into my front yard, and one of those a vehicle missed our house by just over a foot (hit a tree instead.) Plus I drive ~20-25 k miles a year.

What region are you in, so I can avoid it?!
