Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex, personally called Sens Shelley Moore Capito (R-W.Va.) and Susan Collins (R-Maine) to advocate for paid family leave, according to Politico.
“I’m in my car. I’m driving. It says caller ID blocked. Honestly … I thought it was Sen. Manchin. His calls come in blocked. And she goes 'Sen. Capito?' I said, 'Yes.' She said, 'This is Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex," Politico quoted Moore Capito as saying.
"Much to my surprise, she called me on my private line and she introduced herself as the Duchess of Sussex, which is kind of ironic," Collins told Politico's Senate reporter Marianne LeVine.
“I was happy to talk with her. But I’m more interested in what the people of Maine are telling me about it,"
Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand (D-N.Y.) had apparently given Meghan the numbers to the U.S senators.

I’ve mentioned this before, but it deserves another outing. Benito Mussolini loudly and often complimented FDR and his policies. The source I read didn’t say who told him, but he was told that his frequent praises of FDR were hurting the American President. And, if he wanted FDR to succeed he needed to remain quiet. I gather he had a difficult time understanding the request, but did comply.
That difficult time is because people like Mussolini and the royals and others live in a bubble where they never hear any other opinions. I can’t recall who said it, but the quote goes, “Liberals are people who want to hear the opinions of others and then are shocked and angered to find there are other opinions.”
And Gillibrand's cell and office numbers would immediately go onto my blocked call list for her doing this. Simple phone courtesy and etiquette, you do not give out my phone cell number to anyone not even the police without my express permission. Friends or colleagues do not do that to each other else they quickly go on my sh*t list.
I read where some in Congress contacted the royal family demanding her and Harry be stripped of any royal titles for interfering with American politics.
