Oregon County Votes To Join 'Greater Idaho' in Rejection of Progressive Portland Policies

Another county in eastern Oregon voted to approve a measure to join the "Greater Idaho" movement in response to progressive policies in Portland.

Sixty-three percent of voters in Harney County supported the non-binding Measure 13-18 as of Wednesday morning, Oregon Public Broadcasting (OPB) reported. It's the only countywide vote this year...

...Harney County is just the latest of seven other counties in Oregon to vote on measures to move the state line. The county court must start holding meetings about the border's relocation after Measure 13-18 is voted in.

Regardless of the county vote, the U.S. Congress and Idaho State Legislature would have to approve the border change. However, the group argues that the ballot measures put pressure on the states to negotiate an agreement...

Love it!! That is fantastic about the DOC's an ownership!!!

BTW I have many people I work with both virtually and in person in Nashville as well as attend many professional gatherings there. So I get my fix throughout the year. But I do love my pools and sunshine and just saw no to snow unless it is ski time. ;D. But I do love TN. I wouldn't be able to move there however. So not worries about me. I'd be more of a Scottsdale lady :D if I had to move. Or a smaller more close knit town version of Sun, Pools, and gorgeous nature around me.

I did not know that one of the bloodiest 4 hours of the Civil War were fought in that area. Can you point me to a resource to research this further? Such as a name of the battle etc?

Unfortunately, the red parts of California are where all the water comes from. The rest of the state will never allow control of that water supply to leave.

Some of the Greater Idaho plans/suggestions include the California counties next to the southern Oregone border.

That would be interesting.
An option not many had considered.

She said “all borders are temporary”. I took this class about 1969 I believe. Her comment was and is accurate.

My PolySci elective professor was an old fashioned democrat, and he believed in “All borders are temporary!”

That was in 1960, and he felt that was a way for many forgotten people in xyz state to get the respect and legal protection, they needed.
