In a night of news coverage devoted to the racial undertones of the Virginia gubernatorial election, MSNBC failed to devote any significant coverage to the election of Republican lieutenant governor candidate Winsome Sears, who became the first black woman elected to statewide office in Virginia history.
MSNBC's main political panel of commentators Rachel Maddow, Joy Reid, and Nicolle Wallace, who argued throughout Tuesday night's election coverage that Republicans ran a racist campaign in Virginia, did not mention Sears a single time as it watched returns come in. The 57-year-old Jamaican immigrant and Marine veteran ran at the top of the ticket with Republican gubernatorial candidate Glenn Youngkin and focused her campaign on the same issues, including fighting against critical race theory.
The first mention of Sears on MSNBC didn't come until early Wednesday morning after her victory speech, which was not aired by the network. In the speech, Sears, joined by her black husband and their children, discussed her experience as a first-generation immigrant and making history as the first black woman elected to statewide office. "I'm telling you that what you are looking at is the American dream," Sears told the crowd of supporters.
The black-out of Sears came as MSNBC commentators leaned in on the issue of race and how it turned the election for Republicans. Reid, who in the past has called black conservatives Uncle Toms, said Republicans ran a "racially focused" race that used education as "code" to racist white parents.
"Unfortunately, race is just the most palpable tool in the toolkit," Reid said explaining how Republicans won in Virginia.…

There’s a name for people who think things they hear are code: schizophrenic.
The Left has never been perceptive of reality. Its no suprise that they are not recognizing a big crack in their narrative. Many in non white communities are realizing that socialist policies have been toxic to their communities. Within the black community there are elected officials and leaders such as Senator Scott, Georgia US Senate hopeful Hersel Walker, Virginia Lt. Governor elect Sears and others who with the support of many in their community, are openly self identifying as Republicans in their own terms. The Leftist narrative begins to collapse when people start thinking and acting freely and independently. The MSM, which has so much invested in the globalist socialist agenda, cannot handle or recognize this evolving phenomena.
Rachel Maddow, Joy Reid, and Nicolle Wallace are racists.
.........well, WHAT could be more RACIST of the marxist Democrat, America hating Exec’s at MSNBC than to not air (i.e. censor) a news story about a successful BLACK, FEMALE lieutenant Governor!?
Answer: Nothing! It’s the height of racism.
well of course
liberals all know and say conservative black people aren’t really “black”, they aren’t “authentic”
i really wonder who awarded them the power to make such a determination
Yes it was interesting to watch last night, MSDNC and CNN...
MSDNC was the worst offender, starting a segment making a big deal about the Boston mayor being first woman of color to lead boston.. lead with it... and didn’t mention for 1 second that the first woman of color ever won a state wide race in VA for lt governor...
Not only that, the picture they used for her, literally was a pixelated mess, it looked like a half downloaded image from a web page from the 90s.
I am sure they had no graphics ready because they didn’t remotely think that it would happen, but honestly even scrambling at last second to get one, you couldn’t do better MSDNC?????
Couldn’t mention that she won, because the entire narrative at MSDNC was racist dog whistles are why Youngkin won... nothing else... Can’t point out the lt governor won by the same margin and is a black woman, ex marine, born in Jamaica... that those same racists voted for....
CNN was just as disgraceful with their “analysis”... Van Jones continues to be the most racist person on TV.. period.
We get it... She can’t be black unless she believes in being a slave to the state.
The daily sites I check for news each morning, 2 Gannet rags and a CBS and an ABC local affiliate didn’t report on the Virginia races at all but did cover some obscure race where the democrat won.
Yep, Van Jones declared that Youngkin is the delta variant of Trump. He thinks he’s so clever coming up with these slogans. Or maybe some flunkies feed him those lines.
Reid is simply a step-n-fetchit for the globalist elites. In the real world, she wouldn't rise above the fry cook at McDonald's.
Joy Reid looks upon those who escaped the plantation with disdain.
Ms. Sears is a great American.
Her acceptance speech was a beautiful thing!
Not aired on CNN or MSNBC.
It doesn't fit their narrative.
SHE IS GREAT!
And after hearing her after election speech, I love her even more!!!!
BTW, way to go Virginia. May this be the first of a long line of blue states that vote themselves off the democrat plantation.
Can’t blame them. They’re scared to death of her. A smart GOP would send her out on the road. Make her the face of what black voters are missing.
