Republicans raked in sweeping elections wins in Long Island on Tuesday, making gains that New York’s political establishment didn’t expect.
Republicans won county executive and comptroller races in Nassau County, a blue-leaning bellwether that President Joe Biden won by 10 points in the 2020 presidential election.
I can't put into words the stunning turn of politics happening on Long Island tonight. Republicans are leading in all major races. County Exec, District Atty, County Clerk, County Comptroller, N. Hempstead, Oyster Bay and Hempstead town supervisors, and several key leg races…

The wins amount to historic Republican gains in a traditionally liberal-leaning area of a blue state. Long Island isn’t anywhere as progressive as New York City, but the area voted for Biden in the 2020 presidential election.
Republican District Attorney candidates defeated Democratic competitors in Nassau and Suffolk counties, the two largest in Long Island. Longtime assistant prosecutor Anne Donnelly and Ray Tierney cited their Democrat opponents’ support of state bail reform legislation, which has allowed individuals charged with serious violent crimes to quickly leave the jail system before standing trial, at times offending yet again. New York state has suffered from an increase in violent crime as progressive state and local leaders enshrine new legal privileges for offenders.
Republicans are set to flip four seats in the Suffolk County Legislature, potentially even gaining control of the county government. Republicans bolstered their majority in the Nassau County legislature, which was already under their control before the 2021 elections
Suffolk Leg could easily change hands from Dem to Republican tonight. Key Dems are losing in several races. It's an enormous power shift in both counties assuming it holds.

According to New York Young Republicans Club President Gavin Wax, the GOP flipped every District Attorney seat in Long Island. Nassau County is the most populous county on Long Island, which has a population of more than eight million people.
All the District Attorney races on Long Island look to have flipped to GOP.

The GOP’s historic gains with white suburban voters, seen in Virginia and New Jersey- a constituency with which the party struggled in the 2020 presidential election- materialized in serious fashion in Long Island in 2021, with voters alienated by Democratic soft-on-crime and anarcho-tyrannical policies.
In what may amount to the greatest political shocker of the night, Republicans continue to compete for the governor’s palace in New Jersey, with Jack Ciattarelli dueling incumbent Democrat Phil Murphy in an election with outstanding margins of a few thousands votes. A truck driver who spent $153 on his campaign nearly unseated the Democrat Senate President of the New Jersey legislature.

People at the local level, even in solidly liberal areas, are angry from what’s transpired in 2021.
Use whatever momentum we have to push for election reform and integrity. Plan for the future.
Katie, bar the door. The bitter clingers are waking up.
I hate to thump my chest but...A lot of us have been preaching this for so long.
Go for the local elections-town/city school boards and county and go for the state at the same time.
Then, go for the big ones.
The focus has been entirely at the national level more than the all important local.
Folks have learned the hard way that the local District Attorney is a critical position.
It is the difference between government that serves law abiding citizens and government that serves criminals.

Great comment.
Well Said...George Soros knew how powerful the DA job was....
But why did the city vote for the commies?
I don’t know why folks are seeing these results as so shocking. Even in this piece it says the R’s already controlled the Nassau Co. legislature. For a long, long time Nassau County was Republican. I think that changed after a whole bunch of them were caught with their hands in the proverbial cookie jar, but I might be wrong about that. And the suburbs HAVE gotten a lot more lefty in recent decades.
But clearly that is changing.
These Dem/Lefty/Creeps went after people’s CHILDREN. I just can’t get over how stupid they are.
Spending like drug drunken fools...Bring in thousands of illegals...
Talk about giving them $450 k...each
Try and spend TRILLIONS of $$$ on stupid carp...
Following a POTUS that doesn't know what he is doing...crapping his pants..
Anyone worth anything...knows he's senile and demented......
Although the MSM will cover for him....Which every in the know citizen know they LIE!!!!
Yeah...they are pissing people off.....
More Republican victories. FR doom-and-gloomers who swore it couldn’t happen hardest hit. Film at 11:00...
That's been my thought as well. Take care of the local and the national will take care of itself.
Long Island is historically Republican. The only reason the voters turned away from the GOP was corruption. There was a lot of cronyism out there, and eventually the taxes became an issue. People in Suffolk county started to ask why they were paying huge salaries to the police and to hundreds of government officials.
Well it does look like they got away with the steal in NJ.
Winning local elections is the key to taking back the country.
Win enough counties, control the state with elected representatives to the state legislature. Control the state, control national elections.
“The focus has been entirely at the national level more than the all important local.”
10-4, crz.
“ Long Island isn’t anywhere as progressive as New York City, but the area voted for Biden in the 2020 presidential election.”
Wrongo. Suffolk went for Trump in 2016 and 2020
In my town the higher point downtown is a Trump flag.
