Democrat Ed Gainey became the first Black mayor of Pittsburgh on Tuesday. “Look at the image we are showing our children,” Gainey said to the crowd at the downtown Benedum Center for the Performing Arts. “I want our children to see a city for all of them,” The Associated Press reported.
He had consistently made his campaign about equality for Black and poor residents, and accused Peduto of failing to ensure equity in policing, housing and other areas. At one point, he called Pittsburgh “a tale of two cities,” according to The Associated Press.

I listened to his acceptance speech....Oh my gosh....my impression he’s a racist Demorat.
When all you have is your race, you really don’t bring anything of value to the table.
So uh...
didn’t Virginia just elect its first black Lt. governor?!
Oh wait.. she’s an R so that doesn’t mean anything.
This guys a dunderhead....
That’s what Pittsburgh has been needing, another black democrat to save the city. It’s really worked well in other big cities hasn’t it?

a fat Al Sharpton wannabe. Pittsburgh is effed.
That was my first thought when I heard him speak.....he’s in over his head.
Yep...I was pretty much stunned when I saw it announced.....says he’s going to clean up the streets so people feel safe. But it’s his kind that makes so many of them unsafe.
he’s gonna steal that city blind lol
It worked great for Detroit....
Making the burgh west Philly
Is there any other kind? Now can all watch as Pittsburgh descends even further into crime, corruption and squalor. That's what the left loves most.
Those who lined up behind Mr. Gainey , mostly woman, were unified by a desire to reform the system that has left communities of color behind in the city, his supporters said.
I think so too....and give handouts to the dear black lady activists who galvanized the black population there...as was reported. And he’ll be hiring others of his kind to help as they did in Detroit.
....”Now can all watch as Pittsburgh descends even further into crime, corruption and squalor.”.......
I’m afraid so....I live far enough away from Pittsburgh to not want or need to go there....but the very few times I did I never wanted to go back, and that was before this guy won.
It’s really disappointing because the guy doesn’t come across too bright....rather like, as one poster wrote...like Al Sharpton and talks like him too.
Sad really.... this guy’s going to need many of the elite leftists to even manage his position.
