Democrat Ed Gainey became the first Black mayor of Pittsburgh on Tuesday. “Look at the image we are showing our children,” Gainey said to the crowd at the downtown Benedum Center for the Performing Arts. “I want our children to see a city for all of them,” The Associated Press reported.
He had consistently made his campaign about equality for Black and poor residents, and accused Peduto of failing to ensure equity in policing, housing and other areas. At one point, he called Pittsburgh “a tale of two cities,” according to The Associated Press.

But it has a large black population and all those were this guys district.....plus he was raised there. Highest Education....Business Degree. Lost two other tries foe election until after he became chair of the Democratic Party there.

Not my city however my county rest next to Allegheny which is Pittsburgh. About an hour or so from me....so glad I never go there...and won’t. Unfortunately what they do does affect Western PA.
This guys history shows he’s not been successful in addressing the black communities problems....time will tell but I’m not the least bit hopeful.
So the city is in big trouble not because he is black, but because he is racist black who will push the progressive destruction.
Oh he said that he was inspired to run after the protests that followed George Floyd’s death...and he’s totally against stop and frisk....so goodbye police in Pittsburgh.
Progressive policies have been destroying American cities for 60 years......this new mayor will do likewise without question.
It is not impossible to believe that the citizens of Pittsburgh would vote for their own destruction. Yet on the other hand it has been noticed that major vote fraud has moved out of the confines of Phili and into Pittsburgh. It was very noticeable in 2020. So we may never know if this guy really won or not.

Well I know Obamas pitch was to galvanize black voters in major cities as well as focus on blacks running for office in major cities. The intention is to unite Mayors in every city, he even began organizing them before he left office. So you could be right they’ve moved into Pittsburgh now with a heavy hand....which does have a large black population. I’m just sorry they didn’t select a better black candidate ....instead of this racist one. And he did run on the idea Pittsburgh is a racist city.
Well it’ll be fine while they celebrate, like they did when Obama won. But of course once they see their life isn’t any better, which takes them awhile to see, then they’ll re-think about what they’ve done....like they did with Obama.
When you vote for a candidate because he’s black....that’s all you’re going to get unless he can bring with him the desire and fortitude to change black communities for the better....and even then if the people won’t do the work it’s going nowhere. Oprah learned that when she tried to educate inner city girls...they wouldn’t do the work. She pulled out.
Well he was the chair of the Democratic Party in Pittsburgh...so there’s that.

All the sudden I feel the need to avoid Pittsburgh, especially next summer.
