Mr. Pence is delusional if he thinks he will be the republican standard bearer come next presidential election.
Perhaps he is trying to keep his name out there simply to make money?
Heck Bernie ran for a year and it bought him a rich mans house on a lake.

Constitution says the VP/Senate Pres. opens the envelopes containing the electoral ballots and hands them to the ‘tellers’.
Is that a quote from the constitution?

I wonder if they had to rehears that? You know, to be sure he doesn't forget to open the envelops before he hands them to the tellers.

His constitutional authority in the entire process is official envelope opener to relieve the tellers of that duty. Got it.

Giving him a rubber stamp would have been simpler.

You seem to know what the Constitution says about the process
What if he's sick that day? Is the election null and void?
Did they rehearse their little skit with a stand in?
What if he refuses to hand the envelopes to the tellers? Will they arrest him?

Trump will pick him again, but I’m not a supporter of Pence.

Pence is an idiot who took his lead from anti-Trumpers, not Madison nor the Bible.

Pence was always a Bush League Republican, part of the GOP House leadership of Boehner, Ryan, Cantor and McCarthy that have spent their careers keeping the borders open and the laws unenforced to import a permanent Democrat majority.

Pence is a fraud. I instantly distrust any politician that openly cites their religion as much as people like Pence do.

ClearCase_guy: I strongly dislike him. (Post #2)

Skywise: Should’ve followed Jefferson’s example when he counted the votes his way. (Post #4)

What (Pastor) Mike Pence's proper decision did was to expose the whole national audience--yea, the whole world--to the inefficacy of Bidenesque socialism, a lesson that weakly allegiant governmentarian supporters needed to learn (but have they, yet?). No doubt he greatly hated to have to make this lawfully correct decision against his own interests as well as Trump's.

But what that decision did not provide was a path to termination of that kind of leadership, because it put in power an anti-Constitutional, anti-law hand(s)-behind-the-throne authoritarian structure that, so far, has been successful in escaping the inevitable consequences of it.

There is only one way a pastor can direct a suffering plebescite of predominantly wrong-minded voters, and that is to individually turn to God and His Son from a sin-sick mentality, and begin to learn what true freedom is.

In fact, that is what our Founders did that resulted in a revolution against a domineering abusive monarchy, a Biblical position that its liberal seminary-trained religionists have since gradually given up in the last hundred years.

So now we see what the "social gospel," introduced by the "Christian"(?) socialist (click here) and first president of Britain's Christian Social Union, the Bishop of Durham Brooke Foss Westcott (click here). He, with his disciple Fenton John Anthony Hort, rewrote the Greek textform that now undergirds and changes the nature and interpretation of most modern English translations of the Bible, and hence the philosophies of influential large denominational church bodies, necessarily redirecting the desires of its voting constituents from Godly purposes to social (sinful) pursuits.

Like Hillary Rodham Clinton, for instance. And many others, Methodist, Presbyterian, Episcopalian, et cetera. But not (supposedly) constituents of an autonomous assembly of Baptists.

But as I dare say, not Mike Pence, who obeyed the Founder-written and approved, Constitutional, Federalist charter in his critical decision that is in view in this article as his operational principle.

Is there a way back from this vector into Marxism?

I don't know, but I'll cling to the Cross of The Christ as the Founder-anticipated sole solution, as enunciated by Justice John Jay and proclaimed to be the national cornerstone.

"In God we trust" (?)

So - again - you say Pence had no power here.

If he’s so noble why are you and he championing his action that he had no power to affect?

Pence is dog food as far as I’m concerned. Quoting the Bible doesn’t mean you have to shut down all cognitive functions.

So - again - you say Pence had no power here.

He had the power, but not the privilege of contradicting the numbers given to him by the Electoral College (who were subverted by the Dreamocrats). But clearly Mike did not possess the dispensation to further subvert their subversion; only do what the Constitution--and he maintains his own relationship to the Lord--by performing what the documents demand.

Democrat socialists lie and mislead and commit fraudulent actions. Should Mike have done the same "for the benefit of society"? Which many people professing constitutional conservation were urging Pence to do in spite of such an action being contrary to their supposed standard? A principle core to any socialistic maneuver ever conceived? Your supposition that it would have been counted lawful? That doing what you want he would not have been escorted from the chamber under arrest? or maybe dead?

Get out of here. Go crack open a book on philosophy of government. Then come back corrected.

He could only sound the knell to that which was certainly already now dead; that is, any form of honesty in the electoral process.

Eh?

Oh please - he had the power to select the alternative delegates. Just like Jefferson did. You claim he “followed the constitution” but the constitution purely sits that power within the head of the senate. In this case - Pence.

Pence chose the rules he wanted to follow and he chose the rules that were the LEAST threatening to himself - not to stopping the communist takeover of this country.

Ethics and Morality- MEAN things and sometimes “doing my job” is more evil than doing the right thing.

Regardless - Pence is defenseless here because he could’ve taken this stand WEEKS before instead of the day of. He didn’t - he was intentionally sabotaging and sandbagging the Trump wing of the GOP.

In that sense he was and is complicit with the evil that is in the US right now.

You’re not as well read as you think you are.

When governor of Indiana, Pence was going to sign a bill to protect religious groups from being bullied by sexual fetishists. But when push came to shove, and the fetishists and their media allies began raising hell, Pence vetoed the bill.

That should tell you all you need to know about Mike Pence.

He squished on his alleged Christian principles more than he didn’t. And if/when some chickie(s) spill their guts about romantic interludes with him I won’t be surprised.
