Governor signs new law: Payments secured for people fired over vaccine refusal

Iowa is standing up for workers who have refused to take the coronavirus vaccine on principle and paid for it by losing their jobs.

A new law signed by Republican Gov. Kim Reynolds carves out an exception to the rules for individuals who claim religious or medical exemptions from COVID-19 vaccination requirements.

The bill passed the Iowa House and Senate on Thursday, according to KPIC-TV.

“This is a major step forward in protecting Iowans’ freedoms and their abilities to make healthcare decisions based on what’s best for themselves and their families. This legislation also gives employees the assurance that they will still receive unemployment benefits despite being fired for standing up for their beliefs,” Reynolds said in a statement on her website.

Thanks gov. But, from a previous post, I made this comment:

"Again, self determination. Because you don’t want it should be all that’s needed."

Wake up dammit! Your own critical thinking and self determination shouldn't be questioned. Instead, those that choose not to are called selfish, unpatriotic, stupid, killers............... LUTFA! Pretty clear under the old definition of 'vaccine' this doesn't work. So, they changed it to suit the current situation. Fully vaxxed? Don't think so. They are going to change that as well. With any luck we won't end up like NSW Australia where the gov is freezing bank accounts so that you can't buy or sell anything until you get the stab. WTAH?

Well meaning, but still not good. The rebellious non-conformists have been identified and have been fired. Those who remain are the pliable, conforming sheep who will not object to government gaining power and control over them.

Let’s see how long before I get fired from being retired. It could happen. Social security? Medicare? Gas access card to fill your car? Sad dang circumstances.

Not really. They paid into their UI insurance. Getting fired for refusing a deadly frankenshot shouldn't result in denial of those same UI benefits.

[[they will still receive unemployment benefits despite being fired for standing up for their beliefs,”]]

Correction “despite being discriminated against znd fired for their religious beliefs via an unconstitutional mandate which violates the law against religious discrimination “

The perfect is the enemy of the good.

Accept this minor victory and hope it builds a platform for the next victory.

Good, now make it illegal to fire them in the first place.

Wait until Fedzilla realizes their dream, implementing the CBDC (digital dollar) and replacing the entire private banking system with a Central Bank. They'll be able to control/limit every purchase you make. No need to take your money, they will already have it.

Winner, winner, chicken dinner. You win the post of the day award! You are 100% right on this. No one should ever be fired for medical reasons. They are claiming this a health issue? I call BULL! How can someone be fired for not wanting something that could kill them???? Stand up America!

It depends on what state you are working in.

Some states charge employees-—

Some charge employers....

Every tax "paid by employers" is ultimately paid by employees in the form of lower wages.

It is just a politician's sleight-of-hand to make the tax less visible.

When someone is entirely willing to work and is fired for refusing to compromise a sincerely held belief — one which has no direct bearing on their job, skills or performance — I’d say they’re qualified for unemployment.

Especially since those who DO get the jab can still catch and spread the virus. What exactly are they claiming is different from a public health risk perspective since there appears to be no difference between the jabbed and the un-jabbed? And the death rate from the KungFlu is ~.12%, which is in line with a normal influenza year.

“Good, now make it illegal to fire them in the first place.”

This is the winning comment.

MAKE IT ILLEGAL TO FIRE THEM — PERIOD.
